Dottie, since you have experience with BEA. Does it make any difference if I only attend on Friday? Will I miss out on book opportunities? I want to rack up but I also don't need 3 days worth to make connections and see what's new.

Hi Theresa! I'm not Dottie but I'm just going to jump in and answer, lol!
My first year at BEA I only went one day and I had a great time. I was able to get quite a few books and even meet on of my favorite authors. That said, I was a bit disappointed that I missed things on other days. Basically each day of BEA is the same but different. Any day you go you'll have the opportunity to pick up a great collection of books, find some new authors, and maybe meet someone that brings out the fangirl in you. I think I can safely say that you'll have a great time no matter what. The biggest thing about going all the days is you'll have to opportunity for the largest variety of books, signings etc. If you're just going for the experience one day is a great way to start your BEA adventure. If you want to fangirl over every author and try for every "must have" book, you may need all three days. Hope that helps :)

THANKS! That helps soooo much. I am wanting the experience and to really get some great reads, look at what's new and make some connections in the industry as I own a publishing company (Yoshima Books) and run my review blog (Raging Book Reviews) so, I need to stay on top of things in the industry whilst also trying to grow my publishing co. So that's GREAT news and I think I'll stick with the one day (Friday) and then get a gauge on it before doing all three days next time.

Take a look at the registration information for this year. It will give you an idea of who can attend each part of the show.
