I read most of this book yesterday while I was waiting for my daughter to finish packing and get her storage space set up. I enjoyed it -- I liked the insertion of plot points and dialogue from Shakespeare's plays and poetry in the text. I think the concept that some of the geniuses of the past could not be real humans is interesting and different authors have different takes on it. The vampire playwright in this book reminded me of Deborah Harkness's portrayal of Kit Marlowe as a demon in her All Souls Trilogy.
I also found this a quick read. The second book in the series, Zombie Island, is also a fast read.
I think that the idea of an immortal Shakespeare writing for centuries is interesting in light of many people's assertion that one man could not have written all Shakespeare's plays.
I also liked that some of Shakespeare's plots come from ghosts who pester him until he tells their stories.
