We are asking all members to nominate books they wish to read that represent The Beauty of Art. We are looking for stories about all forms of artists i.e. painters, performance artists, dancers, singers etc. Also stories containing art as a theme or centred around it whether it's paintings being described or music created. Books can be either fiction or non-fiction.
Once all nominations are in, two polls will be added for you to vote on which books you wish to read for May's Book of the Month. However, if there are not enough books up for nomination, then only 1 poll will be created and top two books will be our book's of the month.

You all have until 15th April to suggest a book of the month.

Note: Authors are not to nominate their own books and please do not repeat a book if it has been suggested already or if it has already been the book of the month previously. Thank you.

I nominate Crash (Crash, #1) by Nicole Williams which has been on my TBR forever. Also Dance of Shadows (Dance of Shadows, #1) by Yelena Black . I read the first 3 chapters a while ago and never got to reading the rest of the book.
Adding Seraphina (Seraphina, #1) by Rachel Hartman . A fantasy where the main character is a talented musician.

It can be author too as well as non-fiction.

Nicole(thereadingrebel) (thereadingrebel) | 969 comments The Serpent King by Jeff Zentner
The author is a singer/songwriter. One of the characters loves fashion and one of them loves music. It is a YA Contemporary.

I got it in my first Owlcrate which is monthly YA subscription box from Canada. You get a book and 4 bookish items. There are others like YA Chronicles box from Australia, UpperCaseBox which is in the US, and Illumicrate from the UK.

MadameZelda I haven't heard of this monthly book subscription either. But after Googling it, there's many of them, including adult, paranormal, sci-fi, etc., monthly book subscriptions. Thank you, Nicole D., for this info!

I hadn't either until I saw it on a book blog I read. I was so happy because it's really fun. It's like a monthly secret Santa for book lovers.

Melissa ♥ Dog/Wolf Lover ♥ Martin | 695 comments Yessss, I found out about owlcrate last week and signed up. I looked at all the goodies in the box I missed last year and was horrified I didn't know about it sooner. I will up load a pic of my first box with whatever book and goodies I get at the end of April. I just missed the March box when I signed up 0_0

I'm going to nominate A Thousand Boy Kisses by Tillie Cole . She's plays the cello and he's a photographer…but the story itself is pure artistry. So poetic.

message 17: by Naomi (new)

Naomi (_naomijennings) | 1 comments Perhaps Passenger the main character is a musician, she plays the violin.

Litcube isn't just YA. If I am remembering right. I had to do some shopping around to find the perfect box. So many of the amazing ones where in the UK and Australia and the shipping cost as much as the box.
