Well, I'm finally back at work after nursing Hubby 24/7 these past 4 weeks. Hoping to get back into my reading grove, too. I started a book on March 12, and I'm only on page 180 (at this rate, I won't finish it until May!) Also really glad to be back listening to my audio books during my daily commute.

Let's see:

Dad died (do not feel badly, we do not) that's a relief for us all.

I have 3 more shows coming up in April and 4 in May!

I'm living w/ Mom part-time and have yet to invest in another pc (I do not want a laptop) so no reviews for 3 days a week.... But I get to read.....

I'm still happy......

Marti (coloreader) In April, my daughter and son-in-law are selling their starter home to look for a larger one.

In May, Hubs and I are taking a quick, mid-year trip. Still deciding where, but Vegas is on the short list.

In June, I turn the big 6-0MG! Gack! When did THAT happen?

Auntie ... sorry to hear about your Dad, and relieved to hear that you and your mother are at peace with this. Sending good thoughts your way.

I'm on my way to Mexico for 15 days!

I'm not reading as I have been distracted by life, well I did finish 2 books in April.

I exported my cvs to Airtable, all the information is there, but it is difficult to read and there are no bookcovers, which I find makes my lists more attractive & pleasing to the eye!

Karin Life has been swamped lately! My eldest came home from university/college last week, my middle one has a community college orientation (it has some excellent programs and she's not sure what she wants to do yet, so is starting here) this week, end of the year school events, rehearsals for other things, extra this and that type things; May has replaced April as my craziest spring month this year.

Spring can be pretty crazy if you have kids in school or coming home from college. Lots going on and everyone is in transition. I am a few years past that stage. My sons are in their 20's and my husband and I are only responsible for ourselves & our dog. I was told by someone that I was in "the sweet spot" (after kids, but before grandkids). Hahaha!

Sadly, my son "quit" his job after 16 years of teaching. The school district had made it impossible to do the job he feels he needs to do, with no pay raise in three years to boot. Seventeen tenured teachers in his school alone are leaving with him. You'd think the school board would take notice! Oh, wait. They are part of the problem.

Hopefully a mass exodus might bring attention to the problem....
the parents who voted the assholes to the Board now need to get involved...

Laurie (laugal) I went to an annual book sale this weekend. 150,000 books.Saturday was BOGO.I bought 8 books for $ 3.50 and one free book they offered. I bought 2 treasures! One is Isak Dinesen 7 Gothic Tales from the 1930's,small little hardcover. Can't wait to get into that one.The other was from 1941-World's Greatest Literature of 20th Century., Anthology of condensed classics-Dickens,Mark Twain, even Mein Kamph (10 pages long, really condensed)!. This 1500 page book has so many classics! I usaully spend $9-10,but this year didn't find as much as I usually do. At 150,000 books they certainly were not lacking. This is one very organized book sale as well-by genre and author!
