Added and ACE: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...Not sure if the cover should be replaced instead. Someone else can take a look.
The book you linked was marked as an ARC edition. The main edition with ISBN 9780316348409 is here with updated cover and subtitleEdit:
Ah Ellie, you're correct. I overlooked the Lena Dunham quote on the top which qualifies as an ACE :). Since the book is not officially published yet, can we mark the current edition I liked above as another ARC and move ISBN to the ACE you created?
Thanks. Can you remove this ARC edition? It is the version that comes up when you use the search function and therefore confusing because it has an old version of the subtitle and cover. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...
We want to be driving traffic to the hardcover edition. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...
Only the author (if claimed GR profile) can set a default edition. Otherwise, the most popular edition (shelved by most users) comes up as default. Librarians have no control over it
We don't want any ACEs of this title. The cover with the Lena Dunham quote is the FINAL cover. Please change this for all editions of this book, including the kindle edition, and remove ACEs.And as I have mentioned several times, the ARC edition is the one that is appearing when you search for the title in the search bar and has the wrong subtitle and wrong cover. We don't want people shelving this edition. Please REMOVE it https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...
The author herself has requested this update.
This series has new covers that havent been added on GRs yet.https://www.goodreads.com/series/8886... (the 3 primary works)
Also this book.

Hachette wrote: "The author herself has requested this update."That doesn't mean the author is right, though. Authors ask us to delete older editions all the time.
Can a librarian explain for me why an ACE was created for an edition that was never distributed as an ARC and hasn't been published yet, rather than just replacing the final cover prior to publication per the publisher/author? All the yet to be published editions except for the ARC should be able to have changes made to covers and titles, right? Or is the librarian's manual woefully out of date on such matters? The ARC edition still has the cover/title it went out with and only needs the format updated to paperback to be correct (ARC's were paperback.)
@Hachette, the ARC edition is the default because it has the most ratings/shelvings of all the available editions, that is how the database works. Only the author can override that by logging into her GR profile and setting the edition she wants to be default. No one here can do that for you. Deleting the ARC edition isn't an option because it was a valid edition that went out to readers/reviewers. Once you set a different edition as the default the ARC will be irrelevant.

That should be fine.
That should be fine.
Since book has not been published yet, merged ACE with hardcover edition (merge pending) and moved final cover to https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...Will recombine when merge has gone through. ETA done.
