Kink in romance is generally kept to a very narrow path. Alpha male taking a submissive female who retaliates at first but then submits fully. Anything else is written as erotica with very little plot.

But there is so much more to it than that.
Alpha males that want a partner in life and a submissive in the bedroom. Alpha females. Rules applied to promote pleasure and not just blind obedience. Domination without jealousy. Role play. Exhibitionism.

In my books I like to showcase all of the wonderful loving ways a couple, or more Melissa's Men, can come together. Sweet and heat Safely Begun: An erotic bondage romance. Passion and self control Unsuitable 1 Brazenly showing your love for one another Truth Revealed Or hiding behind a mask Two Faced Wife

So long as it is Safe, Sane, and Consensual all love is worthy and should be celebrated. And have their stories told. That is what I am doing.

Rebekah Jonesy | 5 comments Author interview questions
1 - What story has recently inspired/moved you?

Kaoru: In Loves Shadow Is a very moving love story with a different perspective.
Love Unfeigned Is a super sweet chaste romance that spans a lifetime and just gets sweeter as it goes. Super sweet innocence.

I like to read books like these two to keep me balanced. I read the sweet passionate stories to counter my flaming hot, sometimes violent, passionate stories.

2 - Characters begin with their strengths and weaknesses. Many authors reflect their own strengths and weaknesses in their characters. What are some strengths and weaknesses that you relate to, and how have these traits influenced your characters?

Like most people I deal with uncertainty, insecurities, and this really bizarre fear of success. I didn't fully understand these in myself until after I had written them into my characters.

Melissa, though completely outgoing in her sex life, deals with her uncertainty in her love life and her ability to form long lasting relationships. Which I struggled with for years. In my first book Mandy is dealing with her insecurity and her need for privacy while she is learning about bondage. Just like I did. Independent Brandy has to learn how to deal with her successes, accept outside help which she is reluctant to do, and come to terms with the idea that smoking hot Adam actually wants to be with her. All things I am still working on myself. But this helps my writing because I understand where these characters are coming from and what they are dealing with internally as they from these relationships.

3 - What did story mean to you as a child?

Stories were incredibly important to me as a child. I grew up on the old fairy tales, not the happily ever after kind that Disney has rewritten, but the ones were the mermaid dies because her prince only loves her as a sister. Every story has a lesson. Sometimes it is obvious, sometimes it isn't and you have to think about it. That taught me to look for the truth or the meaning behind every story.

When I write my stories now I try to add a lesson. Sometimes it's a moral. Sometimes it's more practical or even a bit carnal, like the coffee trick.

Ms Lady Jones | 9 comments Hello, And thank you for being apart of the cyber convention. I like your page and happy to hear someone else likes lessons in there books. I have found myself bored with some of my last books because they all feel the same. I would love to read your books for something fresh.

M | 1 comments I loved reading about your thoughts on romance and kink! And needing a lesson to a story, I feel the same way! Very excited to read your books. I feel like we have a similar view to what a story should be like. Curious to see your writing style! :-) Definitely on my 'to read' list!
