Nominate a book or two in the post below that you would like read for May' Group Read.

The books with the most nominations/seconds (the top five - seven), will be voted on in a poll later this month.

When nominating a book , keep in mind about nominating a book that takes place later in the series - as not everyone may have read the previous books.

When nominating a book, please just list the book title and author. You can also give a short description as to why you nominated that book. Authors can nominate their own book, but please keep it to a nomination. If you wish to market your book please do so in the Authors Discussion/Promotions Folder

Books should be fall under the Science Fiction, Fantasy, Speculative, Horror genres - and everything in-between!

Since we did not have enough nominations for April, the books that were nominated from April have been carried over for May.

- Neuromancer by William Gibson

Daniel Goodland (grey_starr) | 12 comments I do see a trend of Authors suggesting their own books. I would sincerely hope that having done this - they will read whatever books are chosen and participate - and not choose their own book in the vote - that would be rude.

As these are all books that I would not typically read - it will be a challenge for me. But I'll take part to see what doing this kind of this is like.

I will nominate a book .. SolarversiaSolarversia by Toby Downton ... this is his first book, and though I did review it for him before it got published - I would love to read the published version.

Solarversia is the story of an epic year-long game played by 100 million people inside a virtual world modelled on the real world Solar System. Given three lives, three vehicles, and told to master The Science of Solarversia to stand a chance of winning, players compete for the 10m grand prize, and the chance to help design the next game, starting in 2024.

Lesley Donaldson (lesleydonaldson) | 6 comments Daniel, I, for one, play fair and will read whatever the group decides. I don't think one should assume that an author who participates in this thread will automatically not read anything but their own work. Good authors read more than they write! Recommendations always come in helpful to sift through the many possibilities that exist.

Daniel Goodland (grey_starr) | 12 comments Excellent :) ... in my past I was amazed at the drop out rate if people didn't get what they wanted (not for choosing books - this is my first time)

Julie (juliemdobson) In honour of one of the many wonderful GOHs I will nominate The Skystone by Jack Whyte - because it's been on my self for years and the only book I have by this years GOH's.
