Well, so far she went to see him and kept her mouth shut through three cokes. That's pretty much the sum total of their relationship until Gwen contacted him about Maggie's serious injury. I think this might end up being good for Maggie. She doesn't seem to have any family that she can really depend on. Maybe that will change now.
I thought the way he popped up in the hospital at the end was odd. Not sure I would want my friend to interfere that much.

Wonder how she knew so much about him. She said Maggie's mother had told her that she had a half-brother, but I didn't think she gave her details.
It was realistic that she'd take that first step and then balk. She's trying and I think she would have eventually found her courage and opened up go him.
Extremely weird that Gwen would have called him. That was certainly something Maggie should have controlled. Seemed over the line to me, too, Phrynne.

I got the idea that he wasn't terribly surprised to have an older half-sister. Maybe their dad told him (or even his mom)?I do hope they begin to build a relationship; since Maggie recognized him as a younger copy of her dad, I think they will be good for each other. I've forgotten their exact ages: is he about 18-19 and she's about 40?
She was 32-years old in the first book. I think about two or three years have now elapsed so she's 35 or 36. She was 12-years old when her father died and I don't think Patrick was born yet. I think he's about 20-years old.
