Hi everyone -- I've been on the road and so I'm behind, I know! These are, of course, the big ending chapters and Double Down will be out in just a couple of weeks. Here we have the infiltration of ARLabs and bad guys being defeated by our crew. I'll toss in a few more comments tomorrow or answer questions, but I wanted to get the thread up!

Keith Bowden (godzylla) | 15 comments Ah, is there anything more satisfying than literary comeuppance? Take that, Evil Corp! Heh heh.

A few last thought and observations:

"A whole new sinister fourth world," nice hint of things to come, and a wonderful nod to Jack Kirby.

"You are kind of terrifying." That she is, in the best possible way. Lois Lane is a terror to those hiding the truth. As Perry said, that's what her instinct and insights lead her toward, not news.

Dragons rule!

"And we walked into the violently beautiful sunset together." It's not Dickens, but it's a great last line.

Alycia | 6 comments Sorry, I know I'm making this kind of late, so I hope people are still checking in here. I've always been the person sitting quietly in the back of the class content to just listen to what other people had to say.

I just want to run down some of my favorite things from the back end of the book :)

The fact that Clark is researching all this stuff for Lois. He's just the sweetest, I love him. I think this is the core of what makes Lois and Clark work, they both have this strong sense of protecting and helping people. (And the fun is that sometimes they have a different approach to how to do this) Clark is like the friend we all wish we had. It also seems like this might be the beginning of him getting bit by the journalism bug too.

Lois saving her money "for some unavoidable expense of the investigative variety" has to be one of my favorite lines from the whole book.

Lois not realizing they were getting paid for working at The Scoop cracked me up.

Lois is super savvy with emails. Too savvvy. I think Gwenda must have some experience with dodging peoples emails. (Or at least thinking about it a lot)

I imagine AR Labs must be the beginnings of STAR Labs? My head cannon (until I'm told otherwise) is that now that AR Labs has been exposed, they bring in Prof. Hamilton to legitimize the place and add the Science and Technology part to try and distance themselves from what it used to be.

I would also be interested in doing a read through/ discussion of Double Down. I am told that it will magically appear on my iPad on the 1st. (If we don't I will probably just randomly tweet you my thoughts as I read it)

Keith Bowden (godzylla) | 15 comments I love how Clar- er, SmallvilleGuy is shown to be thinking as well. Too many people write off Superman as just brawn. And yeah, these are skills that aid him as a reporter.
:)

The "We're getting paid?" line was funny, though of course not realistic, especially considering all the rules in place for underage workers. But at any age, paperwork would have to be filled out before starting work, and proof of age provided.
