I'm a huge fan of cozy mysteries...well, any kind of mysteries but I love the ones that feature cats. Joe Grey by Shirley Rousseau Murphy is one of my favorites and started my love of cat mysteries. There are quite a few authors I love but too many to name.

I thought I'd create this group so we can all share books that feature cats.

Amy the book-bat (batkisses) | 6 comments I have been reading the Cat Who series off and on for a couple years. I'm currently ready for book 20 in the series. I am hoping to finish the series this year and then start on the Mrs. Murphy series. I got the whole Cat Who series and about half of the Mrs. Murphy books at a library sale a couple years ago and have finally found the time to read them :-)

message 18: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (lilbozo177hotmailcom) | 11 comments I want to start the cat who series soon but my library only has a few not in order and not all the surrounding libraries have them. its so hard to find cozy cat books because so many cozy's have cats on the cover-often the same cat throughout the series covers. Quite often the books make no mention of cats.

message 19: by Leighann (new)

Leighann Dobbs (leedobbins) | 1 comments Thanks for the invite! I've loved cat books ever since my first Midnight Louie book. Also love Joe Gray and the Mrs. Murphy mysteries by Rita Mae Brown and of course "The Cat Who"! And others, too many to mention!

Thanks for joining the group. I hope we all find new-to-us cat mysteries to read!

message 21: by Jeanne (new)

Jeanne Miller (goodreadscomjeanne_miller) | 24 comments I love both cat and dog mysteries, especially if they are told from the animal's perspective.

I've been having so much fun looking for these stories...it's like I've found a hidden world that I'm happy to be a part of.

Just started the Mystic Notch series and am loving it. One of the writers here...Jeanne Fogarth I believe...also has a good series that I recently started reading. Loving that one too.

About to read my very first Chet and Bernie book.

My library has all the Cat Who books, including the short story collections, and I've read them all several times (the actual series novels, anyway). I guess 30 is a good number to end the series on, but I was really looking forward to reading the next book in the series, but Lilian got sick while working on getting it published, so she changed her mind shortly before she died and decided to not publish it, so now we'll never get to read what would have been the 31st book in the series...

message 26: by Darlene (new)

Darlene | 1 comments Hi, my name is Darlene, from Alberta, Canada. I recently discovered the Goodreads app from a librarian, who was kind enough to show me how to use it. I love mysteries of all kinds, cozies, historical ones, cat and dog mysteries, and I will read nearly anything else....except Romance. I hope to have the time to do some of the challenges here. So nice to "meet" all of you. I am still updating my book shelves, I need to input about 600 more cookbooks, as well as a few more fiction, so wish me luck!!

message 27: by Betty (new)

Betty (bettylouise54) | 55 comments Welcome Good luck with updating your shelf Ibid a major job. I like cat and dog and animal stories. Seldom read romance. I do have a few romance authors that I will read.
