message 3: by [deleted user] (new)

Aarti, have you seen the movie?

message 4: by [deleted user] (new)

no. not even read a blurb and no gonna

message 5: by [deleted user] (new)

u like a walk to remember right??? then y only 4 stars??

message 6: by [deleted user] (new)

Actually, I didn't like the use of unnecessary explicit language. I didn't like the male protagonist in the starting, although latter both won my heart. And the ending!!!!!! Superb!!

message 7: by [deleted user] (new)

And I'm very hard when it comes to rating.
Just like Hazel Grace, I save my 5-stars.

message 8: by [deleted user] (new)

Aarti wrote: "no. not even read a blurb and no gonna"

Then you are lucky. I've seen the one fourth of the movie. I also know the ending. Don't fear, I won't spoil it for you.

Good to know. vl keep an eye for ur 5-stars.
Hazel from faults??

message 10: by [deleted user] (new)

Yep. From Faults in Our Stars.
You haven't read/watched Faults?

message 11: by [deleted user] (new)

Arpit wrote: Then you are lucky. I've seen the one fourth of the movie. I also know the ending. Don't fear, I won't spoil it for you

since I started with Sparks. I dont really care about ending but content. otherwise old Aarti would have asked u, Is it happy ending???

message 12: by [deleted user] (new)

no. havent watched/read faults. actullay I started but then old friend spoiled it for me. I culdnt bear sad endings so dropped it

message 13: by [deleted user] (new)

You remind me of Gorab :P
As Gorab says-"It's not about destination, it's about journey."
I will answer the question only to old Aarti :D:D

message 14: by [deleted user] (new)

Aarti wrote: "no. havent watched/read faults. actullay I started but then old friend spoiled it for me. I culdnt bear sad endings so dropped it"

But despite the sad ending, the book is beautiful. Well, one can always watch the movie - and the movie is also good- but it lacks many elements from book. There were many funny moments in book, but not in movie.
You can go for the book. Give it one more chance.

message 15: by [deleted user] (new)

Okay I will read it once I am done with Sparks

message 16: by [deleted user] (new)

I just finished first chapter and I am not hoping for happy ending. Watever it may be I know I am gonna love it

message 17: by [deleted user] (new)

Arpit, how do u write review?

message 18: by [deleted user] (new)

Hey buddy,
I've completed The Boy in the Striped Pajamas.
And also I've started The Notebook.
Chapter-1 done.

message 19: by [deleted user] (new)

Aarti wrote: "Okay I will read it once I am done with Sparks"

Done with Sparks??
You mean after completing his all books??@_@

Continue it. I'm a fast reader. Don't wait for me, just tell me where you are:)

I love Nick's writing style.
(Can we call him nick?)

message 21: by [deleted user] (new)

Aarti wrote: "Arpit, how do u write review?"

???*_*

I just write them:P:P

Hehehe...actually, I judge any book on four scales.
First- Writing style
Second- Characters
Third- Storyline

and fourth- Now, it's somewhat personal. I check how much emotional impact they leave on me.

And then I write about these four points in my review:)

BTW, why this question?

message 22: by [deleted user] (new)

Arpit: "Done with Sparks??
You mean after completing his all books??@_@"

yeah. I am planning to do that. :P

message 23: by [deleted user] (new)

Arpit: "Continue it. I'm a fast reader. Don't wait for me, just tell me where you are:)

I love Nick's writing style.

thanks for heads up. I will try to be fast.

No prob with Nick

No specific reason. yunhi

4 scales... Itna sochate ho..

I judge based on only emotional impact they leave. It should make us feel something.

Have u ever had these feeling while writing review that u just cant explain ur feeling abt book or while reading u hv dift thought abt smthin but then at the end of the book u just forget abt those feeling?

Are u getting it?

message 26: by [deleted user] (new)

Aarti wrote: "Have u ever had these feeling while writing review that u just cant explain ur feeling abt book or while reading u hv dift thought abt smthin but then at the end of the book u just forget abt those..."

Haha...yep, it happens.
It happens when I love a book so much that I can't find words to explain the feeling. I think that I won't be able to do justice with the beauty of the book...and then I just rate it.

It happened with Train to Pakistan, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, A Walk to Remember and many more.

Now the second thing- Yep, my thoughts change according to my progress in the book. I Shall Not Hear the Nightingale might be a good example of this sort of thing. I was reading it, and it was okay...but when I reached around 75%, it completely changed- in a good way:)

Did I get it right?

I'll join you in some more, if you won't mind.

message 28: by [deleted user] (new)

You don't need to read it fast. Read it at your own pace. I'll manage with you. I'm also reading The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn (sequel of Tom Sawyer- a book I loved too much), so I'll be slow with it, giving equal attention to Huck.

message 29: by [deleted user] (new)

Arpit: "I'll join you in some more, if you won't mind."

I would love that.

Nahi...while reading I don't think at all; I just read.

But while writing review, yep, I do a little thinking.

By the way, you know Hindi?

message 31: by [deleted user] (new)

Hey, how much done?

message 32: by [deleted user] (new)

Arpit: Haha...yep, it happens.

u got it.
I read it in article. there is this guy who write his thoughts after u know chapter break. He takes time to think. then he writes down every thought crosses his mind.. anything and everything
and at the end of the book, he sum up everything then writes review. so I asked. but then this way of writing review, I think, is only for books with deeper meaning or philosophy.

While reading The longest ride I experienced a emotional journey... had thought alot abt everything... money to marriage. I should have written everything down. Coz when phase is over u just cant get it back.

message 33: by [deleted user] (new)

Finished second chapter

I wasnt expecting this but book is moving fast.

message 34: by [deleted user] (new)

Well, she uses Marathi all the time, so I asked.

Aarti wrote: "I am not liking this book. Its like story telling"

But I'm liking it very much. It's more mature than A Walk To Remember. That was a little childish.

I'm still on chapter 2. Will reach at least chapter 3 tonight.

That's great. But then I don't think I'll enjoy doing it. It will spoil the fun of reading.

Gorab writes diary??

message 46: by [deleted user] (new)

I finished 3rd chapter

message 47: by [deleted user] (new)

I like details. the way they met and fell in love is so quick. I havent understood characters yet. Both Allie and Noah are foreign for me and here so much happening.

Your status once, I guess. Plus your "about me" section:P

message 49: by [deleted user] (new)

I think I'm on chapter 5. Something with "Kayaks and Forgotten Dreams"

I think then you must watch the starting 15 minutes of movie. It's all about their initial love-story. You'll know how they met and fell in love.
