Laura (laurameijberg) Our first book we're going to read in this bookclub is Kindred Spirits by Rainbow Rowell.

'Everybody likes everything these days. The whole world is a nerd.'
'Are you mad because other people like Star Wars? Are you mad because people like me like Star Wars?'
'Maybe.'

If you broke Elena's heart, Star Wars would spill out. So when she decides to queue outside her local cinema to see the new movie, she's expecting a celebration with crowds of people who love Han, Luke and Leia just as much as she does. What she's not expecting is to be last in a line of only three people; to have to pee into a collectible Star Wars soda cup behind a dumpster or to meet that unlikely someone who just might truly understand the way she feels.

Excited for everyone to read this!

Laura (laurameijberg) Have you already read it? If so, what did you think about it?

Kristel (kristelb) Have you read it already?

Amena (Nerd in New York) (nerdinnewyork) No I haven't read it yet. I kind of quit reading Rainbow Rowell after "Fangirl". I found that book very annoying. But if the group has to read it as book of the month, then I guess I can read it. Will someone sponsor this book? Or will we have to buy it ourselves?

We'll have to buy it ourselves. However, if you do not wish to participate in this readalong, it's okay to skip it and maybe join next month's!

I'll try to participate and maybe try to find it. Rainbow Rowell books are very hard to find where I live.

Amena (Nerd in New York) (nerdinnewyork) Suggestions
1) Carry On by Rainbow Rowell - I'm not sure if you liked Kindred Spirits, but I heard everyone liked this book. It's a LGBT book
2) Outlander by Diana Gabaldon - I never read this book. but it's a T.V series, and the T.V series was the BEST! So obviously, the book is better
3) A Darker Shade of Magic by Victoira E. Schwab - Let's be real here everything this author writes is gold

Amena (Nerd in New York) (nerdinnewyork) Oh also An Ember in The Ashed by Sabaa Tahir. I heard really great reviews!
