The Last Days of Night question

Hey guys and gals, historical fiction certainly strives to take us back, time travel if you will, to recreate an era of a certain time in a certain place. The best efforts go further, they provide a mirror for our own time, a gut check if you will on how we're doing. We of the twenty first century have much to learn as the end of the 19th looks, feels and smells very much like our own only different. Why? Or as Samuel Claims said, "History does not repeat itself, but it rhymes".

I love historical fiction and I loved this book. It was
an electric page turner - for me to be engrossed in something so far off my radar as A/C vs. D/C electrical systems is testament to a well written book.

I agree with you Dave -- I thought it was very interesting how the author uses quotes from Gates and Jobs before each chapter to show how similar today's technology titans are to the titans back then. It's especially funny to hear the 20th century men mourn the end of an era, assuming progress would never be as impressive as it had been in their time.
