I remember feeling the same when I read that too, Damon. It was a while ago though, and I never read the sequels. I am usually a huge Atwood fan, so probably need to reread and hit the next two all at once.I have just finished the very disturbing You by Caroline Kepnes, and have started something a little different, The Regional Office Is Under Attack! by Manuel Gonzales
Just starting
Splintered by Kelly Miller after finishing
e-Murderer: A Jenna Scali Mystery by Joan C. Curtishttps://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I find I read these books much quicker when they are on the Kindle, which is odd because I like reading proper Hardcover books.
I read faster on the kindle. I don't miss 'real' books at all, which surprised me as I was so against them at first. But the light is so good, and I find them easier to hold, plus reading in bed is so much easier!
I agree with all those comments Damon and Kylie. I wonder why we do read quicker on Kindle though? I am always saying 'just to the end of the chapter', but I did that with physical books too....
I think because you don't have the physical bulk of the book to show you how much further you have to go. On the kindle, when I hit 80% I know that I will read to the end unless I am at the point where my eyes will not stay open. Of course 20% of a 250 page novel is substantially less than 20% of a 500 page novel! With a real book you can see that more easily.
I've just finished the Unwind series, which is possibly the best YA series I've come across. I'm starting The Old Curiosity Shop and haven't decided yet whether I like it or not.
I've just finished reading The Never Dawn and am currently reading Seven Lives. Only 25 pages in, and finding it slow going so far.
I have just finished
The Secret in Their Eyes and have just started
Leviathan Wakes I believe I am going to enjoy this series.
I just finished the Leviathan one recently as well. It was quite good especially the parts with the detective.

Skin Privilege by Karin Slaughter. Not an easy read. Gut wrenching in fact. But soooooooo good! WOW! I feel like I have been hit by a freight train - that's how fast paced this book was. But it was good - really good.https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

The Steel Kiss by Jeffery Deaver a few days back. Scary book, in the fact that it quite conceivably could happen...... https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Just finished listening to
Daughters of the Bride by Susan MalleryIf you like 'happy ever after' - this one's a gem! It has left me with a smile on my face and a genuine liking for this family. To all you who know me, this is indeed high praise coming from someone who doesn't 'do romance'.
Daughters of the Bride is not 'schmaltzy' - it is enjoyable. I even laughed out loud in several places - yes, a good look when you are sitting in a café on your own.
Next time I fancy something light and enjoyable, I will be looking at Susan Mallery first.
Oh dear, I seem to be in a bit of a reading slump....this was even worse than my last read. I made it to 71% then wondered why was I was wasting my time and abandoned it. Everyone else has given it rave reviews.....
