Questions for you

All about you!
1. Twinepathy fandom! The book isn't even published as a book yet. 2. Novels.
3. Revolution Is Not a Dinner Party
I'm excited to join this group! Thank you, Hannah, for inviting me!1)Oh, I don't know, I'm in so many fandoms. It's such a struggle. I LOVE Kristen Cashore's Graceling and its companion Fire, which are pretty under-appreciated. I think The Winner's Trilogy by Marie Rutkoski is under-appreciated too, and I LOVE it! Also, Maggie Stiefvater's Raven Cycle. I'm just obsessing right now.
2) I read tons and tons of novels, so I would say I prefer them, but that's simply from lack of experience with other formats. I will say that I read the Fruits Basket manga and LOVED it, and am currently watching the anime (which is adorable!!). I really want to read lots of Marvel comics, but have no idea where to start. Any suggestions?
3)Maybe The Stranger by Albert Camus? I just read it for English class and I think it's such an important book. It really explores what belief means, and I found it very faith-affirming. My favorite read this year has been Illuminae by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff, which is AMAZING. And another obscure fandom.
Katherine wrote: "I really want to read lots of Marvel comics, but have no idea where to start. Any suggestions?"I can suggest some if you're interested in Thor or Loki comics.

How cool! I've read some posts by C.B. Cook and enjoyed them. She's very talented. Twinepathy looks like fun! Telepathy, teleportation, and amnesia? Count me in. =) I'll have to check it out! Thanks for the comment and welcome to the group.

Yay! I'm happy to see that you joined, Katherine. *fist bump*
I keep hearing really good things about this Graceling series. Also, I may or may not be considering reading the Raven Cycle simply because I like the cover art. =)
Hmmm. Marvel comics. I just started reading those, so I'm not an authority. However, I did really enjoy Captain Marvel, Vol. 1: Higher, Further, Faster, More. The Guardians of the Galaxy make an appearance. =)
Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm off to go look at all of the books you just mentioned. Thanks!
1) Hmm... not sure. It's not really "bookish", but I'm a total Welcome to Night Vale fan. Then again, they DID write a book to accompany that podcast, but I haven't read it yet!! xD2) Novels! But I want to give comics a try at some point. Also, I'm really interested in exploring the graphic novel art form.
3) *checks shelfs* Apparently it was a business book called Buyology. And before that, Ruin and Rising. :)
I'm really excited to be a part of this group! It looks like it will be a lot of fun. 1) Definitely "The Homelanders" by Andrew Klavan
2) Traditional novels are my go-to, and I read them most often, but I have a special love for manga and graphic novels.
3) "Countdown" by Deborah Wiles. A great historical fiction book!

I'd never heard of Welcome to Night Vale, so I just Googled it. It is such a genius idea! I wish I'd thought of it. =) Thanks for sharing!
Let me know when you jump into the comic book/graphic novel world. It's super interesting! You'll feel like Jasmine: "A whole new woooooorld!"

Welcome to the group, Maggie! We're excited to have you. =)
I just looked up The Homelander series and it looks super cool. It for some reason gave me an Alex Rider vibe, a character I loved. Still love, actually, though I haven't visited him in a while. Anyway, I'm going to try to get my hands on a copy. And high fives for being a manga fan! =)
Abigail H. wrote: "Katherine wrote: "I really want to read lots of Marvel comics, but have no idea where to start. Any suggestions?"I can suggest some if you're interested in Thor or Loki comics."
Oh, I would LOVE that! Thor and Loki are the best, I love their relationship.
Hannah wrote: The Guardians of the Galaxy make an appearance. =) *fist bumps back*
I LOVE the Guardians of the Galaxy! I'm actually just a huge Marvel fan in general. I watch both of the TV shows on ABC and go to every movie opening weekend. I'm actually seeing Civil War opening night, and I'm SO EXCITED!
I hope you love all of those books. There are so many near and dear to my heart.
Hi. Thanks for the invitation!1) Not sure if I'm in any fandom...unless you count Les Miserables, Moby Dick, and Jane Austen in there... :) But I also like Harry Potter and Sherlock Holmes. And alot of other things.
2) I like the format of Novels best.
3) Last five star I rated a book was Pride and Prejudice...but that was a while ago.

Pride and Prejudice! Probably one of the best books ever? Which movie do you prefer? (there IS a right answer to that question, haha). I'm reading Lady Susan in a book club for May, which is the only Austen I haven't read yet.
I also really liked Moby-Dick, though I'd like to read it in a class to understand it better. And I LOVE Les Miserables, but I've never actually finished the book. I'm three-quarters of the way through. I just keep watching the musical.
@Brianna No! But I really want to! I love Chris Hemsworth :) I saw the movie version of Moby Dick with Patrick Stewart, which was pretty good. There are tons of Moby Dick references in The X-Files, which is where I got the idea to read it.
Katherine wrote: "Oh, I would LOVE that! Thor and Loki are the best, I love their relationship."I've only read the last volume of Journey Into Mystery, The Mighty Thor/Journey into Mystery: Everything Burns, as the libraries in my state didn't have the other ones, but it was really good.
Loki: Agent of Asgard, Vol. 1: Trust Me and Loki: Agent of Asgard, Vol. 2: I Cannot Tell a Lie are both good. The second volume was very good, in my opinion, and sad.
Journey into Mystery is before Agent of Asgard.
Mary wrote: "Hi there everyone!!! :D Good to meet you all!1.) Twinepathy and Diana Wynne Jones. Y'all have already heard about Twinepathy's awesomeness but I haven't seen anything about DWJ. She was a British..."
Hi Mary! So happy to have you!
Diana Wynne Jones sounds like fun: British + fantasy tends to turn out well most of the time. =)
If you're looking for funny manga, then Fruits Basket, Vol. 1 is the jackpot. The description of it isn't super great, but just have faith. It's awesome. I have @KatherineViti to thank for introducing me to it. And, if you're fine with darker stories, Pandora Hearts is amazing.
Michael wrote: "Hi. Thanks for the invitation!1) Not sure if I'm in any fandom...unless you count Les Miserables, Moby Dick, and Jane Austen in there... :) But I also like Harry Potter and Sherlock Holmes. And a..."
So glad you joined, Michael! Welcome. And yes, I think those all count as extremely awesome fandoms. It's cool to hear that we have a lot of fans of Moby Dick here!

Yeah, it definitely has a very Alex Rider feel to it (another one of my favorite series). Not so much spy stuff, but there are similarities when it comes to the main characters.
I admit that I don't read as much manga as I maybe should, gbut I really enjoy the format and art style of it!
Okay, I'm definitely going to check out Twinepathy and Diana Wynne Jones. Thanks, guys!@Hannah I'm glad you love Fruits Basket! @Mary I hope you love it too! It's the only manga I've read, but I love it! A friend recommended it to me, so I can't take credit.
@Abigail H. Thanks for the recommendations! I'm super excited to start reading :)
This group is so much fun!
1. Hmmm... I'm not sure... I don't know how big the Ilyon Chronicles fandom is... also the Twinepathy fandom... I can't think of any others right now :P2. Novels.
3. Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson
Katherine wrote: "Michael wrote: "Hi. Thanks for the invitation!1) Not sure if I'm in any fandom...unless you count Les Miserables, Moby Dick, and Jane Austen in there... :) But I also like Harry Potter and Sherlo..."
Cool! I'd say my favorite movies are: "Batman Begins," "Inception", "The Curse of the Black Pearl", and "The Dark Knight Rises"
@ Michael I LOVE Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy! Though The Dark Knight really, really scared me :) I have probably seen all the Pirates of the Caribbean movies ten times. I love them!
Hi, I'm Renee, thanks for inviting me, Susannah!1) I LOVE Harry Potter, and also the Lord of the Rings and the Mysterious Benedict Society.
2) Novels are definitely my favorite, comics are really my thing, but I haven't really tried them yet. :)
3) My last five-star rating was the Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, because it's one of my favorite of the series and I'm reading it right now for the fourth time.
First off let me just WELCOME ALL. I know Hannah and Susannah have some great things planned the group and I can not wait to see wear it's headed. Now as for the questions.
1. The Chronicles of the Imaginarium Geographica (I want this either in film or TV)
2. Comics and Graphic Novels
3. Ready Player One

@Katherine Happy?!? Though Professor Slughorn fighting Voldemort while wearing emerald silk pyjamas made me happy.
Abigail H. wrote: "@Katherine Happy?!? Though Professor Slughorn fighting Voldemort while wearing emerald silk pyjamas made me happy."I struggled with that word choice, actually, but I thought: "Yay, major bad character death" So, that made my choice for me???
The deaths are terrible, though. JKR's tweet made me sad.
I hope I didn't spoil it for anybody! I know everybody hasn't read it (or, at least, I have some friends who haven't, somehow).
That's a good point. Now I'm remembering Peeves's poem: (view spoiler)I think pretty much everyone who uses the internet for books and fandoms is used to Harry Potter spoilers. :-)
GREETINGS FELLOW GEEKS and NERDS!! I'm Goody from Constant Collectible. It's awesome to see such a great group going, hopefully we can keep it growing!
1.) I've been a member of the Star Wars Fan Club since 1993, which might be longer than most of you have been alive. Damn, now I feel old.
2.) I prefer reading Novels and Short Stories but do enjoy the occasional comic book. I have way too many damn hobbies including Guitar, Plumeria growing, and X-Wing Miniatures.
3.) the last 5 Star rating I gave would be Lords of the Sith by Paul S. Kemp.

@Abigail I LOVE PEEVES' POEM! Peeves in general is a great character. @Mary that's awful! My mom accidentally spoiled book 5 for my brother, and he has never forgiven her for it ;(
@Chad I'm glad to see a Star Wars fan!! I need to read more in the Extended Universe, but I LOVED the Thrawn trilogy. How did you feel about TFA?
Katherine wrote: "@Simon I really want to read Ready Player One!
Also, Happy Battle of Hogwarts Anniversary!"
It is such a fun book full of 80's references of books, music, movies and more. I can not wait for the film version, which will be directed by Spielberg.

Well I've been quite the absentee! Thank you for starting the discussion Hannah, and it's great to see everyone's book/movie recommendations! Might as well answer your questions ...
1) Quite a few. Off the top of my head, there's Fahrenheit 451 and (not so obscure) Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.
2) I like the traditional novel best, but I've recently discovered the awesomeness of manga and comics.
3) The last book I 5-starred was (I'm pretty sure) "A Monster Calls" by Patrick Ness. One of the most beautiful pieces of literature I've yet read, a must-read.
Looking forward to future Constant Collectible group greatness! We'll see what's in store.

Sorry for being so late! Thank you Hannah for inviting me to this and hello all. *waves* I'm looking forward to geeking out with you marvelous people. 1. Probably the Avatar: The Last Airbender graphic novels fandom. They're not books, so I'm cheating. But the show its self is obscure and the graphic novels are even more unheard of. I own all of them.
2. I'm still mostly a novel person but I'm starting to really enjoy comics and manga.
3. The Giver and all of you should go read it. Like, now. Go.
Mary wrote: "The Giver was so good!! :D Love that book!"Yes! It's definitely one of my favorites now. :)
@Katherine Hi name friend! This is definitely the best spelling of Katherine :)My best friend LOVES The Giver Quartet, but I've only read the first one! I need to finish them.
1) What is the most obscure bookish fandom that you are a part of?

2) Do you have a particular story format that you enjoy more than others: novels, comic books, manga, etc? I rarely read novels so I mostly read mystery/supense books.
3) What was the last book you gave a 5-star rating to? "Uncle Remus"

Yes. Clearly the superior spelling. :) I've only read the first one too. I'm hoping to read the others but it will probably be awhile as my TBR list is all backed up.
Ooh an introductions page! Epic :D1. I'm not sure which of these three ranks highest (or is it lowest?) obscurity-wise, but I love The Queen's Thief series by Megan Whelan Turner, the Knight and Rogue books by Hilari Bell, and pretty much anything by Lloyd Alexander :)
2. I read mostly novels but never really think about the format. I'm always impressed by the innovations in the graphic novel format, though I haven't read ton of them :)
3. Apparently, it was 'Coriolanus'.
Hi everyone and pleased to meet ya! :D
Yes, I love those books!!! Though I do like his other ones better--his Westmark trilogy is probably my favorite :)

To kick this group of right, I thought it'd be fun to get to know each other. So here are 3 quick questions for you to answer:
1) What is the most obscure bookish fandom that you are a part of?
2) Do you have a particular story format that you enjoy more than others: novels, comic books, manga, etc?
3) What was the last book you gave a 5-star rating to?
Answer all of them or only some of them. We'd love to hear from you!
