Francesco (thekaspa) As I am re-reading the whole Mistborn books, I am wondering where it's best to read Mistborn: Secret History: after the first trilogy, as the internal chronology appears to place it, or before the last book, Shadows of Self?
I want to avoid spoilers, so I suppose the publication order is the best one, but at the same time if MSH contain only minor spoilers (like something about Allomancy or Feruchemy that it's not pivotal in the last book) I would rather follow the internal chronology.

EDIT
Sorry, I didn't notice that GR description already states that there are only minor spoilers for Bands of Mourning.
So it's better to read it AFTER all?

Michael (michaeldixon) | 118 comments I think you MUST read it after the original trilogy. I would think it is best to read it after Bands of Mourning.

You may also enjoy having read other cosmere novels first as well, but there aren't any spoilers that I can think of.

Francesco (thekaspa) Well, I have already read everything so far in Cosmere.
Your answer make me feel like it is best to read it the first time at the end, or rather to read BoM and then re-read everything.
I think I'll end reading it after BoM.

Michael (michaeldixon) | 118 comments Oh yeah - then I misspoke. I don't think everything cosmere related needs to be fresh in your mind, but I do think you need to have been exposed to BoM and the original trilogy at a minimum.

Francesco (thekaspa) As you can see, I am almost halfway of MtFE.
Oh well, I can wait another month (I am afraid BoM will take so much to read as I am runnning towards a busy working period and I still have to Push myself through the other books)

Joel I think the best reading order is reading Secret History after Bands of Mourning. That's the way I read it, and I'll probably always read it in that order.
