I've just finished The Prisoner Of Heaven and it doesn't mention Christina at all...

I'm pretty sure she never existed, that she was merely a part of David's delusion.
I think Aleksandra is correct, David Martin is sadly insane, and has created Christina/Corelli etc.
I could be wrong, and the prologue in Prisoner of Heaven seems to suggest Julian Carax is published in 1992 by Editions de la Lumiere. The mystery deepens...
