Dustfeather padded out of the warriors den and sat down, yawning. It was nearly sun-high, he'd slept in. He looked around, blinking in the bright sunlight, and yawned again. Nice day today, he thought to himself, and stood up again. He stretched out his sandy-colored body, then padded over to the fresh-kill pile. Choosing a big, fat mouse, Dustfeather brought it back to a shady patch of sand, and proceeded to devour it in big gulps. He finished it quickly, and sat up again, and began to give himself a good wash.
Harefoot had been padding around camp, tired and in need to do something, she had been out already for the dawn patrol, she had come back and slept for a while, her nest was next to Dustfeather, a warrior whom was brave and quite handsome. Harefoot was sitting in front of the leaders den, like always, she was enjoying a big rabbit, she had made sure all queens and elders were fed first, and the medicine cat had been fed as well. Harefoot was lost in her train of thoughts as she ate the rabbit, her eyes scanning the clearing
Dustfeather suddenly stopped brushing his paw against his ear, and looked up. He'd felt...eyes. He looked around, and saw Harefoot, the leader's sister, looking around the clearing. Oh, alright he thought, and went back to washing. But after a few more moments, he looked up again, and back at her. He studied her for a moment, thinking. She had a bright orange pelt, it was even more so than her brother, Eaglestar, and it seemed to catch the light in the sun, making it even brighter, if that was possible. She was strong, muscles rippled under her pelt, and Dustfeather had seen her out run a rabbit and kill it in one bite. She was definitely not one to make angry - Dustfeather should know, it was she whom he'd attempted to "help" catch a rabbit with, moons ago, when he'd first entered the clan. Let's just say she hadn't wanted his help.
Harefoot had gotten out of her thoughts when she herself felt a pair of eyes on her, she looked around and spotted Dustfeather, the tom who slept next to her and had tried to "help" her catch a rabbit moons ago. Harefoot went back to her rabbit, loving the feeling of the sun on her fur, it made her feel warm and she enjoyed it, she finished her rabbit and then stood up. Stretching, Harefoot began to think and decided to go ahead and find her brother, she needed something to do and she needed to walk around, her legs were stiff and needed walking.
Dustfeather looked up again (he'd gone back to washing himself) when he caught movement in the corner of his eye. Eaglestar was emerging from his den, the orange tom blinking in the bright sunlight. He looked around the camp, caught sight of Harefoot and Dustfeather doing relatively nothing, then the now fairly small fresh-kill pile, and padded briskly over to them. "Dustfeather! Harefoot! Hunting patrol, you two, go."
Dustfeather blinked at the leader, but when he realized he meant now, scrambled to his feet.
Harefoot has gone back to settling down in the sun, when Eaglestar yelled her name she winced, " Good StarClan Eaglestar, shut up and stop yelling, you know my ears are sensitive and I'm right here, no need to yell my name," Harefoot said as she looked up. Harefoot had stood and stretched in the sunlight before she lifted her muzzle and sniffed the air, purring to herself as she smelled rabbit and mice.
"Yes, Eaglestar," Dustfeather dipped his head and turned to Harefoot. "Any other cat coming?" He asked, but quickly hopped out of the way as her tail came sweeping upwards - Harefoot was stretching. Dustfeather twitched his ears, slightly annoyed, but it soon vanished when she purred to herself, and Dustfeather caught himself purring as well. He stopped, and shook himself, slightly embarrassed to be caught purring at Harshfoot - Harefoot - and continued hurriedly and briskly, "Will any cat be just us, or...?"
Harefoot sighed and began padding towards the entrance of camp, ignoring Dustfeather and her brother, " Come on Dustfeather, I don't have all day, I'm tired and I just want to feed my clan," Harefoot said as she paused in her step before continuing forward again. She winced when the wind touched her ear, it was still ringing, or whatever it was called, from Eaglestar, who clearly didn't care, yelling in her ear basically.
Dustfeather glanced back at Eaglestar, who had turned around and begun padding back to his den. He turned back to Harefoot, still waiting for a response - where was she?? Harefoot had disappeared without him and -"Come on Dustfeather, I don't have all day, I'm tired and I just want to feed my clan," she called over her shoulder, and walked right through the gorse tunnel.
Dustfeather jumped, then ran after her, until he had caught up.
"So, er, where to?" he asked, still trying to match her pawstep for pawstep - she was fast.
"Let's try near the abandoned badger set, perhaps something decided to live there for a while," Harefoot said as she glanced over her shoulder at Dustfeather, deciding to turn this hunt into a small game, she flicked her tail and made sure the tip touched his nose. Harefoot normally messed around with Dustfeather like this all the time.
Dustfeather followed Harefoot into camp, still blinking from his run-in with the rock. He really needed to pay more attention to where he was going. He nearly tripped over two kits playing in the sand, and when he finally stood up straight and still again, and was able to see, he'd lost Harefoot. He quickly dropped his fresh-kill on the pile, then looked around for the she-cat.
Harefoot came at last with the big rabbit, she had caught it in hopes of getting praise from her brother, " Eaglestar!" Harefoot called, she made sure it didn't sound like there was something bad going on. Harefoot pawed at the ground at the fresh kill pile right next to Dustfeather, she had put her rabbit right next to the pile so it didn't squash anything else.
Dustfeather jumped slightly in surprise when he saw Harefoot beside him, but regained his composure quickly as Eaglestar padded towards them, coming from the nursery."New kits born," he mewed happily as he got closer, then his face hardened when he saw Harefoot's expression. "Yes, Harefoot?"
Dustfeather stood there awkwardly, not knowing what to do or say.
Harefoot purred slightly, " Look what I caught, this has got to be the most largest rabbit in WindClan history right? I almost lost if because loud mouth over here had to call my name, but I caught it," Harefoot said, she looked at her brother for some sorta of reaction, waiting for his praise. Harefoot hasn't heard a praise from her brother ever since he became deputy of the clan, she had kept her mouth shut back then about what he did and what he told her to do, she cleared her thoughts and focused on her brother at the moment.
((Oh gosh, sorry, I thought I answered, here...))Eaglestar eyed the rabbit and gave a sort of noncommittal grunt. "Not that big," and turned away. Dustfeather looked from him to Harefoot, then down at his paws. He didn't know what to do. It would be best to just stay quiet like he normally did, getting into an argument with the leader was not a good idea, but Harefoot... Why do I even care so much about this? Dustfeather thought angrily, It isn't my problem! I can just walk away and let them sort this out. But he glanced sideways at Harefoot's face, and found he couldn't move. No, he was going to stay.
Harefoot's face fell, she looked down at her paws and then looked back up, " Why do you hate me Eaglestar? Why do you not like me anymore? What ever happened to the tom that loved me when were kits, why don't you praise me like you did when you were younger? Why do you keep yelling in my ears when you know that they are sensitive to sound? Why do you hate me Eaglestar? Why?" Harefoot growled, loud enough for Eaglestar to hear her.
Eaglestar stiffened, and stopped. Slowly, he turned back around, and looked Harefoot in the eyes. "I still love you, Harefoot, you are my sister," he said softly. "I'm just leader now, and everything has changed. I have a clan to look after." He turned again, and padded back to his den, and slipped inside. Dustfeather stayed quiet as he watched Harefoot. He had no idea what she'd do next, he could never tell with her, but he knew she was a sensible cat. Slowly, cautiously, he put his tail on her shoulder.
Harefoot tail twitched and she moved away from Dustfeather, she padded over to Eaglestar's den, " Can I come in?" Harefoot murmured softly, she waited for his answer, she knew he had a clan to lead, but that never meant he couldn't at least praise his sister or praise anyone else for their matter, some cats thrive a little more when praised, Harefoot mainly thrived on her brothers praise because it meant she was doing good and that she could work harder.
There was a pause, and then, "Come in."Outside, Dustfeather sat down, then stood up again, and then sat down. He wanted to do something, but he knew better than to go in after Harefoot.
"Anything wrong?"
Dustfeather turned to see Silverjay, a pretty WindClan she-cat watching him. It looked as if she had been about to get something from the fresh-kill pile.
"Oh, um, nothing." Dustfeather muttered, and with one last look behind him at Harefoot, went to join Silverjay. Whatever was going to happen, he could do nothing about it right now.
"So, what about joining me for a bit of fresh-kill?" he mewed.
Silverjay smiled shyly, "Alright."
((Idea: what if Silverjay has a crush on Dustfeather, and later on that gets Harefoot jealous or maybe just creates some trouble?))
Dustfeather looked up when he saw Harefoot coming out of the leader's den. She didn't look happy."Sorry, you have the rest of this, I've got to go," he said to Silverjay, and hurried away before she could answer. He went up to Harefoot and said, "Everything okay?"
" Everything is not okay, my brother doesn't care about me anymore, he expects me to drop the conversation and go on with my duties, but as of now, I am never doing my duties ever again, I'll be in the Warriors den if anyone needs me," Harefoot responded as she brushed past Dustfeather.
Dustfeather stopped, and watched Harefoot slip into the warriors den. He really didn't know what to do know. This was basically mutiny, a warrior refusing to do their duties. He glanced back at the leader's den, and then to the warriors'. Dustfeather sighed and shook his head, and padded away. He needed to think of what to do. He needed a plan.((You wanna have it be like a few days, and then start up the rp? So some time has passed in their world, so then that gives Dustfeather some time to "come up with a plan"? We could just do something like this:

Canteringspirit padded into camp through the entrance of her safe living space, the medicine cat den. Her blue eyes twinkled merrily in the soft morning glow. She sat down beneath a sheltered spot near the edge of camp and the warriors den, and began her morning groom.
Hickorypaw bounced into the camp, his fur ruffled from sleep. His ears pricked, listening to the sounds of the camp. He spotted Canteringspirit, and meowed "Hello". Then, the young apprentice sat down and mimmicked her, grooming his ears with a sheathed paw.
