Do you like Adriana Trigiani books? She's got one called Very Valentine. I've read it but has been several years ago so may do that for my V.

I have heard other people like her, but haven't read any of her stuff. Good suggestion.

I ended up reading Variant. It was strange, but a decent read.

It's weird. I started the second one but abandoned it for other things.

Variant (Variant, #1) by Robison Wells Kept my interest although I'm not sure I will finish the series

Yeah, I never made it past chapter 1 of book 2. Strange concepts, but book one was okay.
