Kate (hobbitqueenofasgard) Hi! I was wondering, did you enjoy the movies as well? I read the book and watched all the movies. I liked some parts of the book much better than the movies but I do like how they developed a few of the Dwarves' characters a bit more in the films. (Giving that there were three films. . .they had better have done something with them.) I do not like how they added Tauriel though. What are your thoughts? I guess for the most part I like both as two separate entities, though it is still fun to compare. :)

I agree about having to look at them as two separate things in order to appreciate them both. I did like the movies. However they added so much that they could have written a second Hobbit to cover it all. I appreciate what they were trying to do. Give the character more substance I guess. I don't know why they added her either. I thought it was cute but pointless. I would have to say that Thranduil is my favorite character. Although in the books he is just the elven king. In the books my favorite character was Balin. Overall, I liked the movie. But I will always like the animated version better and the book better than both the movies.

Kate (hobbitqueenofasgard) Yes, or the Hobbit book would have been as big as LOTR xD
I do like how they added more to some characters in the movies. Thran was *one* of my favorite characters in the movies. He was just plain awesomeness. But yeah, it's very hard to do a comparison considering both (Once the first movie ended) are basically two different things. :) My favorite character in the book is Bilbo.
