Harry Potter Fans discussion

Hey guys!! This week's character is Sirius Black. I think we might have done him before, but he got 2nd on the lat poll and we are going to do him again. How did you feel about Sirius? Did you think that he was good and that he could have been a father figure in Harry's life? Or do you think his temper took over him too quickly and that he was a bad character?

Sirius was actually one of my favourite characters in Harry Potter. I believe although he had a temper and his bad qualities and what not, so did every character in the book, including Harry. I thought Sirius would have been a great father figure in Harry's life, despite him being slightly irresponsible. But I think a flawed father figure is better than none. I was simply distraught when Sirius died, it was one of the harder deaths for me.

I didn't like Sirius! I get that he was fifteen and everything, but I felt like he was too extreme! I mean he just walks up to people and hexes them! Plus he was like really, really mean to Snape! Not okay in my opinion!

Sirius was really good at times but I agree with Grace that Sirius, James and his group sort of bullied Snape. You know, when James had Snape upside down, Sirius could have stopped him, but he didn't and went on making fun of Snape.

Yeah, I definitely agree with what all of you are saying. Sirius and his group was terrible to Snape but he was still a father figure to Harry no matter what he had done to Snape.

Yeah, that pointed sort of glosses over his fights with Snape...

I really liked sirius in the books/movies, but he did also play that prank on snape when lupin was a werewolf. Snape could've died!
