Daniella waited by the entrance to the Hufflepuff common room. She needed to speak to Skylar, or anyone who was willing to listen. As a Slytherin, she didn't have a large amount of friends in different houses but Hufflepuff house always seemed like the obvious option if she was ever in need of a shoulder to cry on.

Skylar walked down the hallway to the Hufflepuff Common Room with her friends surrounding her. Today, her hair was up in a cute messy bun. As soon as she turned the corner, she knew something was wrong as soon as she saw Dani's face. She pushed through the crowd of friends and jogged to Dani standing in her Slytherin robes. "Is everything ok?" She asked, genuinely concerned.
Dani nodded. "Yes. No. Well yes but it's not bad. At least I don't think it is. My brother is pregnant. Well not my brother but his fiancé... Is that bad? I don't know! Sorry, you probably don't care..." She looked down at her black shoes, wiggling her toes nervously.
Skylar didn't know what to say, "Well I guess it's alright if your brother's fiancé is pregnant; it just depends how old she is.... How old is she?" She saw Daniella looking at her shoes in a nervous manner. She gently took her hand in hers and looked deep into her eyes, "Look, I do care. I will always care and you know why? Because we are friends. And that's what friends do." She let go of her hand and stepped back a bit. ((Have to go, I'll continue in the morning (in my time) see you, continue from this post and I'll continue as well!)
Dani sighed with relief. Slytherins stereotypes had hung around in the shadows of hogwarts ever since the war in hey eyes but this girl was willing to surpass them and help Dani nevertheless. "She's 21 and they've been together fifth year so I guess they're a pretty steady couple... They were Gryffindor Head Boy and Girl together too so they must be sensible. Thank you for listening... I was getting so worked up about it, no one in my house wanted to know."

"Oh, well, if they've been together for 5 years they are a pretty steady couple yes. I'm sure a baby would make them happy! And plus, it would mean that you are an Aunty! Congratulations!" Skylar beamed at her friend, "But one question, why won't anyone in your house listen?" In Hufflepuff, you could approach nearly everyone and they'll be glad to help.
"My brother and his Fiancé are both Gryffindors and well... My house still dislikes Gryffindor a bit." Daniella came from a long line of pure blooded Slytherins, however her parents and brother had been the first Gryffindors making it incredibly difficult to be in the right house. Gryffindor would upset her Grandparents, Slytherins would make her feel isolated from her parents and brother, Ravenclaws were too smart and she was no where near kind enough to be a Hufflepuff in her eyes.
"Oh.. I didn't think of that… Well, you've got me to listen to you, don't you?" Skylar asked. Se felt a bit sorry for Dani, knowing the fact that she was the only one Dani could turn to when things go wrong. She had a brainwave. "Hey... Wouldn't it be cool if you hang out with me? Like me and my friends?"
Dani's face lit up at the thought of hanging out with new people who wouldn't judge her as harshly as some Slytherins did. "I'd love that! Are you sure your friends would want to be associated with me though? Seeing as I am a Slytherin and not a particularly popular one at that?"
"Aren't Hufflepuffs the nice ones? Come on I'll introduce you!" Skylar grabbed Dani's arm and pulled her towards her friends, who were anxiously waiting for her. "Hey guys, this is my friend Daniella, she's a Slytherin, she's a friend of mine. I was planning to have someone new in our group, y'know fresh blood!" She said eagerly.
"Hi, I'm pure blood! I mean Dani! Sorry, old habits die hard... So, what do you guys do for fun?" She felt her cheeks go pink before tapping her fingers against her leg as if playing a piano; a nervous tick she had developed. She searched the faces of Skylar's friends, only to find smiles and kind looks.
One of Skylar's friends called Arabella answered 'Well, going down to Hagrid's is fun and sometimes we play cards..' He thought for a second, 'oh, and we always go to Hogsmeade when we can, studying in the library together is cool too.... Um, we mostly do whatever we feel like doing.' Skylar gave Arabella a nod of approval, she really hoped they liked Dani.
"Nice! Usually all the Slytherin girls do is criticize the outfits of other students when we go to Hogsmeade. Do any of you play an instrument?" Dani asked trying to find common ground. She was really beginning to like hanging around with the Hufflepuffs as she could tell what they thought of her and she didn't have to try and be anything that she wasn't just to make them like her.
"Yeah we have some talented girls here.." Skylar looked around and pulled out three girls, "This one," she gestured toward a short girl with shoulder length, dark, wavy hair and olive skin, "can play the flute, her name is Jessica but you can call her Jess or Jessie." She pointed to the next girl, "This girl is Scarlett," a tall girl with waist-length blonde hair, "she plays piano and guitar. And the last one is Yasmine," she was the same height as Skylar but she had brown hair and skin but had the most stunning green eyes, "she plays the bass."
"Those are some talents! My singing seems lousy now! What about you Skylar? Do you have a talent?" Suddenly Daniella had so much in common with the students in front of her. ((Super sorry! I have to go but I am happy to continue later, (it's midnight in England) I'll carry on in the morning ;) ))
"Well I am alright at singing.. Sometimes Yasmine, Jessie, Scarlett and I make up songs, they do the instruments and I sing. Maybe sometime soon we could do a duet!" Skylar hoped she'd say yes because she'd always loved the idea of duetting with a friend!
