Holly Christine | 16 comments I recently reviewed a book named Casting Shadows and rekindled my love of dark stories. It inspired me to write a short story myself!

I've been thinking about a new contest for my website and decided to host a short short story contest (500 words or less). You can submit as many stories as you like about whatever you like until September 4th. On September 5th, I'll pick two favorites and post them on the site with links to your work! I'll also send the two winners Nine Lives of Clemenza journals. For those that love competition, I'll post your story BEFORE the contest end date so that other writers know what they are up against (I love competition)!

Check out the contest here : http://www.hollychristineonline.com

Looking forward to some great stories!

Posted one todat that I had actually just recently written. Had to cut it down quite a bit. 500 words sounds like a lot, but really isn't when trying to tell a story.

Holly Christine | 16 comments Thank you for your participation, JJ! Great story! I posted it to my site. The short has its own page, so you can link to it from your site as well.

Nancy Jarvis (screalwriter) Here's one so short it can be posted here:
She'd seen it before, but never this bad. The veteran real estate agent was fifty-nine, too old to struggle through the market collapse. She wanted out.
The idea entered her mind slowly, timidly creeping around the edges of her conscious thoughts. She could always become a serial killer. Isn't that what mystery writers are, after all?
She'd make the hero a Realtor. That was never done. She could use all the barely believable, funny, and disturbing episodes from her career and weave them into background. Realtors and clients -- some so exotic, some so quirky, some so close to criminal behavior just living their lives...
