I read this book for my 'book with food/drink in the title' which I know there are a few others who have it down for that category. I absolutely loved it! It's such a charming story and although it's quite a fluffy story it is also a solid, good read. It has so many small side plots and so many wonderful characters that you just can't help but fall in love with. This book gave me all the feels!

It's my choice for that category also. I can't wait to read it. I have seen the movie but don't remember much. I remember my Mum loving the movie though.
I'll read it for this category too. It's highly recommended by one of my friends so I'm looking forward to read it :)
This one hasn't been on my radar, but if you loved it Francesca I might have to give it a go. Sounds a bit like The Color Purple with the wonderful characters. And we both loved that. :)
Definitely give it a go! It does have a similar feel to it and the characters are all done so well! I still prefer The Color Purple but this was also incredible.
This was a cute little book. It had comical part, sad parts, mystery parts and heartfelt parts. The writing style was very easy to read and at times I felt like I was sitting there in the Whistle Stop Cafe. I would recommend this book to anyone that wants a fast easy read.
I think I'm going to change my book for this category to this one too. My mom had a copy and said I could take it back to China with me. Excited to read it after seeing so many great reviews!
I put it on my list for the 2017 challenge and end up reading it this year. Such a good read. I loved all the little side stories, it was almost like reading a bunch of short stories.
I just finished this one. It was a really pleasant read, even if I didn't connect to the characters.I enjoyed the atmosphere and as I know few things about the segregation, it was a good way to discover how people behaved at this time. I liked how some characters were inclusive, the diversity was good and there were many interesting topics addressed. The story was written in an entertaining way and the humorous touches here and there were good. Overall, it was a good read for me :)
I just finished this book and I loved it! The characters were great and I loved learning about them a bit at a time instead of all at once. I loved reading the stories of the more minor characters and how all of the characters were intertwined with each other. Overall a great read.
I have just finished this for week 39 in the 2017 challenge. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I learnt a lot about Alabama during the early 1900's . Well written, making one feel that you were really watching these characters as described by the old lady. Some sadness but also some comedy, which is what life is like.
I guess I'm kind of in the minority on this one. I rated it 3 stars. I just thought it skipped around a little too much and there were a little too many characters for me. I loved Mrs. Threadgoode though and I related to Evelyn. I read it for the 2019 challenge a book featuring an elderly person - prompt #30.
I’m in the ‘Loved it!’ camp. I read it for Week 6: A book with a dual timeline. I liked the characters and thought it was an interesting look at some boundaries being challenged, if, unfortunately not all. I would like to read it again to look at that. It’s ... no, actually, I might leave my thought process there ...
