So my college had a LGBTQIA group but it fizzled out and disappeared. I am at an art college so we are very open minded and accepting. The reason I want to restart this club is because I want a place to hang out and talk with others like me. I am also working on a volunteer scholarship and my project involves the local LGBTQIA youth organization. I want the group to be involved with the community more. I am also thinking of maybe having movie nights or even a comic and book club within the group. One thing the group tried to do last year was to make an art book. I also would like to do that.
I was too scared originally to join it because I am asexual. I have never dealt with this but I am scared that someone in the community will tell me I am not queer enough. It would upset me a lot if someone told me this. Because of this I also want to include allies. I don't want a club that excludes people. That not what this clubs about.
One idea I had for the name is alliance. I have a lot of planning and actually starting up this club to do but I would love some advice and hear other people's experiences or ideas.
