Am I the only one going crazy over that cliffhanger? Man, I'm dying to know where Ella went and who's going to try to bring her back.

But I actually think no one is going back for her. I actually think she is gonna suck it up, come back herself and show Reed she doesn't need him.

Not even Callum? He wouldn't let her go that easily. And Easton seems pretty attached to her as well.

Don't missunderstand me, I like him. But he's not really a good good person. Not a good father nor a man, and I feel like he could give up so easily on her because if he did with his kids, why not the girl he promised he'd let go if she didn't want to stay? She didn't. And I don't think he'd go for her.
It's quite interesting how these characters are good people, but not quite. Like a gray color. Wicked, but not really. Kind, but not quite there.

Like Easton, he's a total jerk to her in the beginning but then we see this sweet almost innocent side to him.

And Reed, he's so confusing, in the beginning it seems like he's an asshole but then he also warms up to Ella and I'm like maybe he was only that way because he thought she was sleeping with his dad. But then the ending had me like - whaaaaaaat?

And Gideon, we don't see him much but I reread some bits and pieces and Callum mentions that he might be seeing someone around town. He's obviously hiding something. There's part where Ella says - it seems as if he could not get clean enough - and he's always swimming. At the end, I made the assumption that Brooke was sleeping with both Gideon and Reed.

And what is up with the twins? Why are they sharing Lauren and does she not realize it or is she just okay with it?

The point is, like you said they're very complex.

I agree! It seems like it all went down after their mother died, but we'll have to see in the second book. I can't wait!
