Dice Roller
-You will roll the die each week, on a Friday, beginning with Friday, July 1st
-Please try and roll on Friday, or over the next day or so, so that your partner can have time to recommend you a title (or two)
-If you do not roll by Sunday, your partner does not have to give you any recs. They can if they choose to, but after Sunday, it's not required.
-You are always free to choose a book from your group thread or general recommendations thread that corresponds to the category you rolled. You may also choose your own title from your shelves or if you really don't like the theme, any book from your partner's shelves.
-Please set the die to '1' when you are ready to roll.
-Roll the die as many times as it takes to get a number you have not rolled before.

I'm good with both m/f and m/m, I read everything :)
And I'm glad we are officially friends now, lol.

I love that I get 2 partners and so twice the recommendations....right?
Week 1 -"
Thanks for letting me crash your partnership Amy!
Let just say I have just read a phenomenal western romance that I can't wait to recommend. who knows by the time the category comes up I might have two but the second one is older so more might have already read it.
Roger - president of NBR United - wrote: "Let just say I have just read a phenomenal western romance that I can't wait to recommend. who knows by the time the category comes up I might have two but the second one is older so more might hav..."Oooh - intriguing! Looking forward to seeing your rec Roger. I love a good MM western :)
Wende wrote: "I can't wait to start this. I don't know how well I will be at picking but I will do my best."Hehehe - I'm not that picky ;) It's the interaction that's the fun bit!
BTW - should we do some sort of intro? Just so that we know when members are more likely to be around etc?Being fairly brief - I'm in country Australia but I work 3 days a week (Mon - Wed) so I'm often offline during that time. (That's probably the equivalent of Sun-Tues if you live in the US.)
I live on a cattle property (hence my enjoyment of westerns, so long as the horse-work makes sense!) with my husband, our Jack Russell terrier, some guinea-fowl and a heap of cattle and horses :D Oh - and its winter here, so pretty cold at the moment (for us).
I think we all know that we are the heavy MM readers in this challenge. I do read a small amount of MF but I don't have a lot of luck with any contemporary stuff... I prefer fantasy/urban fantasy or PNR. Not that this is a likely rec here ;)
Roger - president of NBR United - wrote: "Let just say I have just read a phenomenal western romance that I can't wait to recommend. who knows by the time the category comes up I might have two but the second one is older so more might hav..."Do you mean Spurs?? I had to check your Read shelf immediately after I read your post! I wouldn't mind reading a good western! I just finished Red Dirt Heart 4, I loved this series!
I'm in Greece, so I'm about 5-6 hours behind Jane's time and 7 hours ahead New York time, I think. I live in Northern Greece, just a couple of hours from some amazing beaches, with my husband and my cat. I read mainly MM but trying to fit some crime/mystery, paranormal/UF and contemporary MF (not a big fan of YA/NA and HR, though). It's been at least two years since my last Pick-it-for-me challenge and looking forward to this!
im from sweden and my mm obsession started 2014 when i read loving jay by renae kaye ever since that wonderful book i have been hooked. my favourite genres is paranormal, fairytales and menage
Emelie wrote: "im from sweden and my mm obsession started 2014 when i read loving jay by renae kaye ever since that wonderful book i have been hooked. my favourite genres is paranormal, fairytales and menage"You do read MF though, or you'd prefer to get only MM recs?
I'd prefer MM since I could fit the rec in my Scavenger Hunt list for the month.
Elizabeth wrote: "Roger - president of NBR United - wrote: "Let just say I have just read a phenomenal western romance that I can't wait to recommend. who knows by the time the category comes up I might have two but..."Yes I did. mean Spurs, and the other book I will have to see when I read it for Scavenger hunt is Sweetwater
I am a gay Male from Wisconsin so About 8 hour behind Elizabeth. While I do read a little hetero-normative books it is usually fantasy/sci-fi. Read a lot of mf romance before I found MM romance. vastly prefer MM because I more relate to it.
Roger - president of NBR United - wrote: "Elizabeth wrote: "Roger - president of NBR United - wrote: "Let just say I have just read a phenomenal western romance that I can't wait to recommend. who knows by the time the category comes up I ..."Oh, I have this in my TBR for quite some time. Never read anything by this author (so far!)
I am living in Northeastern Ohio. I have two kids one lives at home and my youngest who is my daughter moved out at 18. Well sort of. She is here everyday. She come to eat. She is 26. I have been married for 28 years to my husband. We have 3 cats (all strays my son brought home) The oldest Booties is 17 so he is not doing the greatest. I read anything. I love fm but only read it in between challenges. Lol I love Fantasy, which has become my favorite genre to read. I blame Scavenger Hunt for that. Last year I fell in love with it. I also adore paranormal books. So Jane you should have it easy picking for me. Just no books like Bloodraven and we will be fine. I just hope I do good for you.
Hi everyone!I live in NY, have 3 kids ages 14, 19 and 22 and today is my husband and my 25th wedding anniversary :)
I read m/f and m/m. I don't read much fantasy/pnr/UF. I really like Contemporary right now, and a very occasional Historical (m/m only) thrown in.
I enjoy more light-hearted stories and nothing too long. I love some humor in my books. Geeky, nerdy, shy - love it!
Hi Group 1!You can roll for Week 1 Friday, July 1st.
Please try and give your partner a recommendation or two by Sunday.
If you can also post your recommendation(s) in the General Recommendations Thread, everyone can see it and have a chance to choose it if they want to. Thank you!
Have fun!
Happy wedding anniversary Fran!!! That's a big one. Hope you are going/ have been out for a special dinner with Marc!!!
Jane (PS) wrote: "Happy wedding anniversary Fran!!! That's a big one. Hope you are going/ have been out for a special dinner with Marc!!!"Thanks Jane!
I have been in NYC all week with Becca. She has been taking a class at F.I.T. (fashion school). I have been exploring the city while she is in class all day. I'm exhausted! Today is the last day and then I can find some more computer/Goodreads time!
Marc came with me yesterday and we had a really nice anniversary day- I took him to The Plaza (Todd English Food Hall) where you and I went! And the Central Park Zoo, a show and dinner. It's amazing how much two people can cram into 10 hours, lol.
I think I'm the last one to do an introduction. (Just fyi, I absolutely hate doing these because I never know what to say. lol!!) I'm in NC, have 2 grown kids (18 and 21) living with me and I work nights for the post office. I read mostly MM but do still enjoy MF as well. I pretty much read everything as far as genre goes, but I am fairly picky about what historical and YA I'll read. I also usually avoid dark or extremely violent books because I really have to be in the right mood for those. I tend to love taboo subjects (incest being my fav) and I just bought my first F/F book. I'm looking forward to seeing what you send my way Fran and Roger. =DHappy anniversary Fran. Sounds like you guys had a great day!
Since Fran OKed it in another thread I rolled a bit early (only 6 hours)! So, Emelie, I rolled 2, which means I'm waiting for some Artist/Dancer/Musician Romance recs!
Thankfully, I enjoy those!
Is anyone dreading any of the rolls? I am I am not exactly fond of Sports romances. Lol. So I am hoping to hold off on it the longest.
Sport romances are my favorite! I'm not sure about Road trip romances. I don't think I've read more than 5 books that qualify and I'm really curious to see the recs for this sub-genre!
Wende wrote: "Is anyone dreading any of the rolls? I am I am not exactly fond of Sports romances. Lol. So I am hoping to hold off on it the longest."Nope. I'm good with all of them. =D

July 1st- August 15th.
-Each person rolls for themselves each week, using each number on the die only once.
-They recommend a book (or two) to their partner based on what their partner rolled for themselves.
-All pairs give each other recs after the first roll.
-Your partner recommends a book to you based on YOUR roll. You give one to your partner based on THEIR roll.
-The recommendations you make to your partner should ideally be something not on any of their shelves. Something new to them that you may have read or something you haven't read but think they might enjoy. If you can't find something new for them, you can choose something from their shelves (not from their 'read' shelf) from an author they haven't tried yet. So it's still 'new' in that they are new to the author.
-Recs are given HERE in your group thread. When you choose your title that you will read for your roll, you can post it in your post in your group thread. Everyone needs to keep track of their books read in their one individual post.
-If you choose to, you can also put your rec for your partner in a general thread, so it's easy for everyone else to see.
-You can choose a rec from your partner, any participant in your own group, or the general group thread.
*Remember, choosing a book that someone else recommended is not mandatory......you are allowed to find a book on your own, it just needs to fit the category rolled. If you really can't find anything on any rec list or on your own that you are interested in that fits the category, you can choose ANY book from your partner's 'read' shelf.
-Everyone rolls each week, for a total of 6 rolls in 6 weeks
-Participants have the full 6 weeks to finish all of their books. You are encouraged to finish one a week, but not necessary. You still get recs, still get to roll.
-If your partner drops out or doesn't make a rec in the first 2 days of the new week, you can ask someone else in your group to make a rec for you.
-Minimum page count of 80 pages.
**Please make sure to friend your partner if you have a Private Profile. They will need access to your shelves.
