Dice Roller
-You will roll the die each week, on a Friday, beginning with Friday, July 1st
-Please try and roll on Friday, or over the next day or so, so that your partner can have time to recommend you a title (or two)
-If you do not roll by Sunday, your partner does not have to give you any recs. They can if they choose to, but after Sunday, it's not required.
-You are always free to choose a book from your group thread or general recommendations thread that corresponds to the category you rolled. You may also choose your own title from your shelves or if you really don't like the theme, any book from your partner's shelves.
-Please set the die to '1' when you are ready to roll.
-Roll the die as many times as it takes to get a number you have not rolled before.

Katie wrote: "Me, too! Though, I know a few of you guys and it's going to kinda difficult to do that whole find something new thing..."Hi everyone - can't wait to get started!
Katie, I agree that finding something new could be difficult, but at least we only have to pick for one person, not the whole group - that would definitely be a challenge! And I'll give you a hint for me...I'm completely open to either m/m or m/f (or some combination of the two!) and read some of each pretty much every month, but if you get stuck trying to find something new, look to m/m - I've read a lot less of it, and have a lot less on my shelves.
ThatEzi wrote: "I just want folks to know I need HEA or Hfn at least.I'm ready to go. This will be fun"
Ditto!
Hi all! Yeah, the new thing is going to be tough - it always seems too be for me! I think we can all agree about the HEA requirement too!Anyway, in case you all don't know, I live in the mountains in SoCal so Pacific time for me. My days vary, but I tend to be online a lot and that includes GR. But the days I am away tend to be long since even the grocery store is about an hour away - hopefully that won't happen on the days we roll! I read a little bit of everything, though there are a couple of sub-genres I tend to avoid. I also seem to lean to the steamier side and it helps if it is available in audio too.
Also, don't let it freak you out if Karen and I say the same thing at nearly the same time or react to things the same way. Some of you may have already noticed that. I think we are some sort of freak of nature - twins born at different times to different families - or something like that! We just laugh about it now. =P
Hi, my name is Mariana and I'm from Brasov, Romania I'm a doctor and in my free time I love to read and watch TV.I'm easy to please. I read mm and mf, I like historical romance, contemporary and paranormal. I can't read BDSM and I will read YA, but I'm more selective about it.
I read in English but I am kind of self conscious about my ability to write, so please if you notice some mistakes that's the reason.
That should definitely help, Karen! I've read a lot of m/m, so I think we should be good there. :)I'm in Pittsburgh. I'm a stay at home mom with a 2 1/2 year old and a 6 month old. I read when I can and enjoy most types of romance. I tend to stay away from BDSM and NA, though I have found some NA that's pretty good.
Mariana -- I think your English is great! There are a lot of native English speakers out there who don't know it as well as you do. :P
Hi all ~ I agree the new thing will be hard. Most of us have long tbr's, lol. I'm a Midwest girl born and raised in the northwest suburbs of Chicago. Spring doesn't exist and summer's are hot :) I work full time -so time online depends on how busy we are at work. I try to get on at lunchtime but sometimes I don't even have time for that. I will try to make sure I'm on here at lunchtime at least on Fridays to complete my roll and check on Ezi's roll to provide choices :) I don't want Ezi pulling out any whips on me ~ I love reading BDSM but pretty sure I don't want it done to me - well at least not the whipping, lol. I'm not a huge fan of YA and NA (my kids will be at this age before I know it). I'm kind of selective in the historical romance that I like. I read both mm and mf as well.
Howdy. I'm Nigerian-American. Born in Chicago. Now living in Dallas Texas. Currently I'm at my family reunion in Chicago (~Melissa~ come see me).
I am 99% audiobook so try to pick one available on audio please.
I'm a lover of love. I prefer romance to oversexed books hence Kristen Ashley and those like her don't appeal to me. Don't like rockers, bikers books. Well I have liked a few but generally no.
Lisa Kleypas is my girl. But in HR, I don't like Loretta Chase, Tessa Dare, Susan Elizabeth Phillips.
I'm into Mafia romances now.
My heart belongs to Spartacus (Agron to be specific), Divergent (Tobias "Four" Eaton) and Game of Thrones (Jon Snow...and Lady Lyanna Mormont) and The Legend of the Seeker (Cara).
Thanks to my little brother, I'm now on season 3 of Teen Wolf. Next up on Amazon prime or Netflix is Downton Abbey.
Hi everyone! I'm another huge fan of the HEA, or at the very least HFN. And yes, finding totally new books can sometimes be a challenge...I'm sure we can all manage to make it work though! :DI live out in the middle of nowhere in the beautiful Pacific Northwest (specifically NW Washington state), and like Kat I'm quite a distance from the nearest grocery store or gas station - not quite as far as her, but close...
I guess you could call me a stay-at-home daughter - I'm the full-time caretaker for my 89-year-old disabled mother. This means that while I need to be around and am quite tied to home, I do have a decent amount of free time as long as things are going well, although usually with a lot of interruptions. I'm sure it's no surprise that a lot of that time is spent either online or reading! I'm another fan of audiobooks, partially because I often don't need to interrupt my listening when I need to be helping my mom with something, unlike actually reading a book which just doesn't work very well for me in short bursts. I get most of my actual reading done after my mom goes to bed at night or occasionally before she gets up in the morning.
I'll read just about anything, but I'm not much of a BDSM fan - there are a couple of authors I really like, but I'm so over all the piling on that came about from the 50 Shades craze. I also tend to stay away from YA unless it's something recommended by someone whose tastes I know agree with mine, and I'm cautious about NA, although I've read some that I really enjoyed - I mostly avoid the ones that could be described as YA with explicit sex. Not that I have any issue with explicit sex in my books, it's the YA part of the equation that I can do without! ;-)
I forgot to add, ~Melissa~ and I fell in love with Ty and Zane
at the same time. Our first m-m and then we fell in love with Matt and Evan
Hi everyone...I live a few miles outside of Chicago and work downtown.
Ezi, where is the party... I'll stop by :)
Melissa, I hope you're enjoy the cool weather. I think we need a break from the 90's.
I work in the drama of Human Resources for a large global firm. So, reading is my escape. I don't watch TV much or go to movies. When I do, I feel bad afterwards because I really could be reading instead.
What do I read?
I read mostly anything, except for horror, like zombies eating people. I haven't jumped on the paranormal bandwagon, but have read some that I like.
I agree, I love a HEA.
What is Hfn?
My preference to read is dark erotica.
- BDSM... check
- Menage... check
- mystery, suspense and crime... check
- friends to lovers... check
- cowboys... check check check
I starting reading m/m a few months ago. I'm loving what I'm reading so far.
...smiles
Hi Sunshine!HFN = Happy for now - similar to HEA except kind of open-ended, like no long term plans or declarations of forever, but they're together and happy. Sometimes the line between HEA and HFN is a pretty fine one...
Hi All! I live on the East Coast, right outside of Philadelphia.I read pretty much anything but I prefer my books to be on the spicier side. I prefer HEA's but it's not a hard limit. I do like M/F, MMF, MFM, MM, FF, and anything in between. I prefer not to have cheating in my books either, but also not a hard limit.
I'm looking forward to getting some new books to add to Mount TBR. :)

Hey - enjoy your reunion - what do you all have planned? We are actually out of town this week but I'm still online, lol. I'm sorry to miss you :(
Hi Group 2!You can roll for Week 1 Friday, July 1st.
Please try and give your partner a recommendation or two by Sunday.
If you can also post your recommendation(s) in the General Recommendations Thread, everyone can see it and have a chance to choose it if they want to. Thank you!
Have fun!
Hey everyone! The other groups have started rolling, and Fran said it was fine to start early. We've got a crowd here for the holiday weekend starting sometime tomorrow afternoon...I'll be around some, but it will be more hit and miss than usual, so I figured I'd go ahead and at least get my roll out of the way.Week 1, I rolled a 5...Sports Romance (yay, one of my favorites!)
Karen! I just read one of those (that I really enjoyed as well!). Sooooo, my rec for you is Him. Hope you like it, if you decide to go with this one. :)
Katie wrote: "Karen! I just read one of those (that I really enjoyed as well!). Sooooo, my rec for you is Him. OK, I'll go - I'm going to be gone tomorrow and I know everyone is going to be busy over the holiday weekend.Week 1 - rolled a 2, Artist/Dancer/Musician Romance.
Ok Katie, I'm giving you a couple of choices, one m/f and one m/m. From looking at your shelves and doing some comparing I'm a little concerned that our tastes are pretty different when it comes to humor, so PLEASE feel free to totally disregard these if you have something that interests you more! How to Walk Like a Man - I liked the 2nd one in the series better than the first.
Overruled - If you're not OCD (like me) about reading series in order, then skip this one and go straight to book 2...I had some issues with book 1, but I've really enjoyed the rest of the series.
Sunshine wrote: "For week one, I rolled a 3 -Road trip Romance"Hmmm, this might take some thought...
I rolled 2= Artist/Dancer/Musician Romance. For me is 7.30 a.m and I need to be at work in 30 minutes so Sassafrass I will give you my recommendation after I get back. Happy reading.

July 1st- August 15th.
-Each person rolls for themselves each week, using each number on the die only once.
-They recommend a book (or two) to their partner based on what their partner rolled for themselves.
-All pairs give each other recs after the first roll.
-Your partner recommends a book to you based on YOUR roll. You give one to your partner based on THEIR roll.
-The recommendations you make to your partner should ideally be something not on any of their shelves. Something new to them that you may have read or something you haven't read but think they might enjoy. If you can't find something new for them, you can choose something from their shelves (not from their 'read' shelf) from an author they haven't tried yet. So it's still 'new' in that they are new to the author.
-Recs are given HERE in your group thread. When you choose your title that you will read for your roll, you can post it in your post in your group thread. Everyone needs to keep track of their books read in their one individual post.
-If you choose to, you can also put your rec for your partner in a general thread, so it's easy for everyone else to see.
-You can choose a rec from your partner, any participant in your own group, or the general group thread.
*Remember, choosing a book that someone else recommended is not mandatory......you are allowed to find a book on your own, it just needs to fit the category rolled. If you really can't find anything on any rec list or on your own that you are interested in that fits the category, you can choose ANY book from your partner's 'read' shelf.
-Everyone rolls each week, for a total of 6 rolls in 6 weeks
-Participants have the full 6 weeks to finish all of their books. You are encouraged to finish one a week, but not necessary. You still get recs, still get to roll.
-If your partner drops out or doesn't make a rec in the first 2 days of the new week, you can ask someone else in your group to make a rec for you.
-Minimum page count of 80 pages.
**Please make sure to friend your partner if you have a Private Profile. They will need access to your shelves.
