I usually make a dessert sushi when I make sushi. It's great with soy paper instead of nori. I like to use nuts, fruit, and cream cheese. :)
I love Sushi!!Nothing But Reading Challenges
Sushi Train
Duration: 7/1/2016 - Til Done!
Progress: 50 out of 50
Sushi is the ultimate snack food or meal! Packed full of nutritional ingredients, loads of flavour and very little fat, you can now get your fill of Sushi in this reading challenge suggested by our member Ray (thank you!)
DURATION
You set the pace!
HOW TO
1. Spell out the name of your favourite sushi roll using Spell-it-out rules or collect the ingredients to make your favourite Sushi rolls
2. Collect your ingredients:
♨ Nori – dark green or black cover, or mentions seaweed
♨ Rice – white cover or someone eats rice
♨ Cucumber – mentions a garden or farmer’s market
♨ Avocado – Takes place somewhere tropical or someone tends a plant indoors
♨ Tempura – takes place in Japan or something is deep-fried
♨ Wasabi – light green cover or someone eats something spicy
♨ Ginger – any shade pink cover or book mentions a “palate cleanser”
♨ Soy sauce – mentions something salty (the ocean, a food, sweat, etc)
♨♨All other ingredients (fish, veggies, etc) – book with the name of the ingredient in the text or title, or an image of the ingredient on the cover (be creative! A swimming tuna can count for maguro)
♨♨One ingredient in a roll can be acquired by reading a book that mentions that exact roll (i.e., if you want to acquire the crab for a California Roll, the book has to mention “California roll”)
Example-- If I wanted to make my favorite sushi roll—the Guido from Mobo in Santa Cruz, California—I would either:
1. spell out G-U-I-D-O and then list the ingredients, or
2. collect: Nori, Rice, Avocado, Basil, Garlic, Cream Cheese, and Macadamia Nuts
