Ch. 8 (view spoiler)[ I'm enjoying this so far. It's really sad, but also sweet at the same time. I want to know what Taylor did that made her two closest friends hate her. Though we haven't seen Lucy yet. I wonder if she'll end up working with her. She seems to run into Henry all the time too. Her family is kind of weird, I like her dad though. (hide spoiler)]

Ch. 16 (view spoiler)[ I knew she was going to end up working with Lucy! At least it seems like things are slightly better with her since Taylor didn't run off. Taylor really shouldn't do that, it's kind of horrible and will only make things worse. I wonder what's up with this dog? Did the renters leave him behind? (hide spoiler)]

Ch. 24 (view spoiler)[ I'm glad Lucy and Taylor are friends again. And Taylor really needs someone to talk to about her dad. Poor girl. It's so funny to see Warren flustered about flirting/dating. I hope Taylor talks to Henry soon. (hide spoiler)]

Ch. 32 (view spoiler)[ Taylor is an idiot! Seriously, because dumping Henry is what you really need to do while your dad is dying. Don't you think your dad would want you to be happy or maybe Henry would like to be there for you. No, you didn't think about those things, God she's running away again! I'm so annoyed. Reading from the 1st of May 2018

Opening chapter suggests the story about dad will be important, but I’m waiting for the inevitable romance element.

Up to ch4. Guess we have the link. Just want to know what happened. They were 12, so guessing it was exaggerated.

Up to ch9. A rather small moment - brief chat in a car - but it speaks volumes. Hope I don’t start blubbering in public.

Up to ch13. Still no closer to knowing the big secret, but I like the casual exchanges that are shared with the family as they are each poignant in their own way.

Up to ch18. A slow thawing out, the brother and sister are starting to form friendships so just one left!

Up to ch24. Moving forward. Cute but not too much.

Up to ch30. Want to be wrong but the signs are that this is going to be a tough section to read.

Up to ch35. Wish I’d not read this part on the bus. Lovely scene with grandfather.

Finished. Review on home page. Emotional...took me by surprise, and one I enjoyed far more than I was expecting.

(view spoiler)[ That was so sad. I teared up while reading the moments with Taylor and her dad. This is hands down Morgan Matson's saddest book so far. (hide spoiler)]

Chapters 1-8: (view spoiler)[ The beginning of the story was a bit slow, but enjoyable so far. I want to see more of Henry in the story, and find out more about what happens between Taylor and him. The throwback chapters were a nice touch. I can't wait to see how the rest of the book goes. (hide spoiler)]

Chapters 9-16: (view spoiler)[ I really love Warren and his many facts. I think he is cute. Also, I really love her dad. I need to get used to her mom and Gelsey. Also, I hope Lucy and Taylor can become friends again. I also want Henry and Taylor together. The pace has improved. I am loving the book right now. (hide spoiler)]

Chapters 17-24: (view spoiler)[ I love that Warren is shy around Wendy. I find it cute, and adorable. I hope he gets the courage to ask her out. How can the people who rented the lake house just abandon their dog. That is a horrible thing to do to an animal. I am happy that Lucy and Taylor are friends again. I am loving Morgan Matson right now. (hide spoiler)]

Chapters 25-32: (view spoiler)[ I am sad that her father is going to die. I am happy that Warren and Wendy are dating now. I am glad that Henry and Taylor are together. I loved that they finally kissed. They are so cute. I can't believe that she is pushing Henry away after getting back together with him. I think that was a mistake on her part. (hide spoiler)]

Ending Thoughts (Chapters 33-40): (view spoiler)[ This was an unexpected read for me. I thought it was an emotional read. I am sad that she lost her father. I thought his death scene was beautifully written. This was my first Morgan Matson book and it did not disappoint. I thought that Taylor's speech at the funeral was beautiful. The ending was really emotional for me. (hide spoiler)]

It took me some time finish this book. Maybe because of its emotional content. I cried a lot at the end. But is was a beautiful sadness because the story is beautiful and sad but no sappy or corny...
