Good luck with the book Denise and thanks for the link to your interesting blog. I agree, things can often take time to come to fruition. You said in your blog, '...are also going to go through years (yes, years) of writing practice before ever contacting an agent.' I agree, that is often the case, unless you happen to be lucky and come across a big story of national importance...and my advice would be to go for it...contact an agent and see what happens.
