Goodreads Librarians Group discussion

Hi there!

The cover for my novel has been updated, and I would like to replace the one on Goodreads with the updated version. My publisher sent me the file directly, but I was informed that I need to be a librarian in order to change the cover.

How can we make this happen?

Goodreads policy is to keep all published covers on the site, as users want to shelve the cover of the copy they have.
Instead, we add an alternate-cover edition.

As the author, you have the ability to change which edition of the book is the default, which will come up in searches by title and show on your author profile.

Which formats are available for your book?
Is it only available on Amazon as Kindle edition?

Format changes are not allowed. Is it available or will it be available as paperback or hardcover? Do you have an isbn?

Ebooks available through Amazon (with an ASIN) should be listed as Kindle edition. Is it available elsewhere?

Thanks for clarifying how to set the default edition. Per your guidelines, I have set the default edition as the ebook edition.

We are working with Createspace for the print format. Currently, the book is only an ebook from Amazon, but there will soon be both hardcover and paperback versions. I do not yet have an ISBN.

I don't think the format has been changed, but I'm not sure. I tried to combine all of the ebook editions, but was not able to.

I'm very confused about all of this!

Ok, it looks like the hardcover edition here (https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3...) needs an updated cover as well.

That will match the default ebook edition.
