It's separate books. There are just 3 different categories, which again, fits in with the Power of Three challenge. :o)
I put it up last night while trying to fight off a migraine, so if it's a little confusing, I do apologize. I'll think on it and then edit it so that it's easier to understand.

Ok, revised, and hopefully easier to read and understand August Challenge.
The Power of Three.
Read 10 books from the following 3 categories. Because this one is so specific, there is no set number for each of the categories.
1) The third book in a trilogy. And it has to be only a trilogy, and the last book in the series. Or, there are only 3 books out in the series so far. (We're counting those as trilogies, since we can't read the writers/publishers minds.)
2) the Author uses 3 names or 2 names and a single initial. Laurell K. Hamilton would be permitted, but J. K. Rawlings would not be. Laurel Thatcher Ulrich is an example of the 3 named author.
3) There are only 3 words in the title. For this challenge, if the title starts with the words THE, AN, or A you can drop that one word. However, if those 3 words are in the middle of the title, they count. The Age of Homespun would count because you can drop that first The. However Under the Iron Sea would not count.
Is that a little clearer?

Monica - The monthly challenges have a target of 10 books. This months challenge has 3 categories to choose from. So it's up to you how many books from each category you read - you're just aiming to read 10 in the month. Is that clearer??
You can even read all 10 from the same category this month. The heat here is just too much for me to even care about sorting through which book goes in which category. (So far, it's been the hottest August in recorded history where I live. And we are all panting like dogs from the heat.)

Not going to make it this month and I'm not even going to try next month (all my books are now in boxes anyway). I'll be back once I've moved in to my new house and turned a bedroom into my library (HEAVEN)

Good luck with the move Danielle.
Also, have to say I am VERY jealous of the concept of a bedroom into my library ~aka~ HEAVEN.

Alison, moving it a pain. Good luck with the move. Knowing you'll have a new library when the work is done will be a great motivator:)

August 2016
Because August is usually the hottest month in the Northern Hemisphere, I’m going with an easy one here.
The Power of 3—author has 3 names (or a SINGLE initial, so Laurel K. Hamilton would be ok, but J K Rowlings wouldn’t be), it's the third book in a trilogy (And it must be a trilogy--or at least there aren't any new books out in the series yet. So the third book in say the Kate Daniels series wouldn't work--the series is longer than a trilogy) and finally a book with a title with 3 words in it (and, if needed, “The”, “A”, “An” at the start of the title can be skipped in the count, so if you read The Black Lung Captain (Steampunk) then you could drop the word “The” from your count. But ONLY when “The”, “A” and “An” are the first word in the title. So Under the Iron Sea couldn't be used, because the the in it isn't at the start of the title.
