curious about "... and beyond..." Well if it's just chit chat and beings as it is a "HOT" thread, how are you coping with the heat in your area? Here in Millville, NJ, yesterday the heat index at 3:00 pm was 107. We don't have air conditioning so the fans have been working and working. I also found with the fans and wetting a tank top to wear I felt okay. Right now I have 4 fans going on me from different places. It creates a cross-current and I am so grateful (so far haven't wet the tank top today)
Hey Karen B,,,its been about 99 here, and I go out and o my errands before 12 noon,,,then get back home. we have a swamp cooler, and i don't run it alot because I have asthma, and it sometimes clogs me up......Beyond-means whatever the Universe stores in your brain, you can talk about it, So far we haven't had drama like in a few groups I have been hearing about, which I am soooooo happy...
We could also discuss the conventions ... not necessarily the candidates but the circus entertainment.

Speaking of conventions and the political scene, has anyone seen the TV show, Brain Dead? It comes on Sunday night.
No Jimmie, is it good? I never heard of it. I looked it up on our schedule, and I don't even see it. As far as the convention, I am watching the sparks. Its like every day is some action. Its going to be a close race for sure. You have too many folks about equal who don't like either one.
BrainDead comes on 9:00 pm EST on CBS Sunday. It is set to run for 13 episodes. That will take the program into September, 2016. IMDB lists the show as a dark comedy/drama/horror and is produced by the same producers as The Good Wife. The biggest star is Tony Shloab from Monk.
Never mind Jimmie, its too far out for me...I can't even get the last 2 episodes of WWP. I have to get one of the grandkids here to show me...

Great choice for us, Stephanie!"
I am glad that you liked it Betsy,,,

When you mentioned conventions going on I have to say that it's a mess in Philadelphia with the road closures and protests. It's horrible the closer you get to the heart of the convention. Can't wait until it's gone. Wonder if Cleveland was this bad.

I hope the Phillies are not playing at home.
Its sad that so many protesters are so against so much, I looked at Bernie last night, and he looks like he just came from a war game, so beat down. i was hurt to see and hear about those emails that put him down to rise another. I feel like I may just write my name on the ballot.
Stephanie, I'm with you. When I read this morning that the US Intelligence agencies "strongly believe" that Russia was behind the email hacking I couldn't help but thinking "Really, or is that just an excuse?"
stephanie wrote: "Its sad that so many protesters are so against so much, I looked at Bernie last night, and he looks like he just came from a war game, so beat down. i was hurt to see and hear about those emails th..."Actually I am thinking about writing in Mickey Mouse. You do know that this is the very last election in our lives because it's not for the next 4-8 years its for the next 40.
Karen B. wrote: "Chris wrote: "When you mentioned conventions going on I have to say that it's a mess in Philadelphia with the road closures and protests. Oh dear, will have to check with daughter if she had a problem. She takes the high speedline from NJ and then I believe gets on a bus or a train but I could be wrong; she might walk from the speedline. On Monday her father picked her up and drove her home, I think because of the heat but maybe because of the convention too.
Well isn't this special. There is a protest right outside my building. I am getting so sick of this shit. Shouldn't expect anything less since the system is so corrupted.
Stephanie, I will vote for you for president. You run our message boards better than the candidates have performed at their jobs. Chris, if we vote in Mickey Mouse, our first dog will be Pluto. I can get behind that plan.
Stephanie, Will Robt. Swartwood be joining our August BOTM discussion or are we on our for this little gem ?
Jimmie wrote: "Stephanie, I will vote for you for president. You run our message boards better than the candidates have performed at their jobs. Chris, if we vote in Mickey Mouse, our first dog will be Pluto. I c..."My thoughts exactly. What a comical administration we would have then.
Betsy, I have reached out to Robert, and he hasn't contacted me back yet, so I will be on the look-out for his message. Gotta run to the craft store, ran out of a few items, and I am going to use that 50% coupon...be back in a flash...
Betsy, thanks for the reminder I forgot.as for the comical administration. Uncle Scrooge McDuck (or is it Mcduff?) should be the secretary of the Treasury.

Dang I missed the first 1/2 hour. Micky and MInnie as Pres and First Lady, Pluto as their Dog, Scrooge McDuck as Treasury who is the VP. Any votes for Goofy or donald
I can't do what you do Chris. I have to read 1 book at a time, because my brain gets books and people xxxxxxxx..
I watched all season one, eight episodes of Stranger Things this past weekend. Stranger Things is a Netflix series. It was a great show and I highly recommend this program.
OKAY JIMMIE, I WILL HAVE TO SEE IF THEY HAVE THIS AT THE WALMART, CAN'T GET INTO THIS NETFLIX THING. MAYBE I WILL BUY IT, THEN DO A GIVE-AWAY...
Jimmie wrote: "I watched all season one, eight episodes of Stranger Things this past weekend. Stranger Things is a Netflix series. I remember when I dragged my Dad to see that movie. He never laughed as much as he did then. God rest his soul.
Stranger Things takes place in the state of Indiana in the 1980's. The show reminds me of Stephen King's IT or the movie Super 8. The biggest star of the program is Mathew Modine.

Mathew Modine play a doctor in Stranger Things. He has a big part in the plot of the series. And yes, he has grey hair in the program. The last show I remember him in was Weeds.
I am getting so annoyed with this site now. I won't be on it much anymore because of all the changes they have made. Stephanie I am gonna have to find out the free books for Nook on Fridays some other way.
Chris, so sorry to hear about the issues with the new site. The updated site is frustrating. Hopefully they will work out the kinks. Here is the link to the Free Nook Book Friday: http://www.barnesandnoble.com/readouts/
Just click on Read More on the book link and click on the Shop link so you can add the e-book to your shopping basket.
If this does not work for you, I can send you an email each week with the Friday selections. Just send me an email and we can discuss these options.
Jimmie, I don't know if she is talking about the free NOOK book site, or this site...Confused in Denver here...
Just an observation on the new layout of Goodreads. It appears the only change they made was to the Goodreads home page. All other pages on the Goodreads website appears to be the same as before. The message from Goodreads states the new layout of the Goodreads home page will load faster. But the layout is much different.
Yeah thats the issue that folks don't like, but I just keep it moving. 1 thing isn't going to stop me from being here. I just keep it moving...
stephanie wrote: "Jimmie, I don't know if she is talking about the free NOOK book site, or this site...Confused in Denver here..."It's this site. I don't like the set up anymore. I was just getting used to their last update in navigating the site then they change it again. It is becoming so frustrating. I am waiting for them to move the 4 tabs on the left when they do that I am completely done.
Jimmie I not worried about the free nook book I just like seeing what it is. I have 346 books on my nook, 418 kindle (I just cleaned out too) and over a 100 books laying around house to read.
It looks like the author of Wayward Pines, Blake Crouch, is really pushing for season three of Wayward Pines on FOX TV.http://tvseriesfinale.com/tv-show/way...
