I've recently finished a romantic suspense and am seeking fresh eyes to help me improve it ready for publishing. Here's a quick blurb to give you an idea:
Her father was supposed to pay. She was supposed to die. It was supposed to stay buried.
Nine months after Faith Roden was kidnapped, beaten and left for dead, she's physically recovered. But she remembers nothing of her abduction, and is grappling with several other gaps in her life left by trauma-induced amnesia.
Headstrong Faith is determined to move on and ignore all the things she's lost, throwing herself into her career as a journalist and diving into a new romance. Yet, when violent nightmares begin to haunt her and a trickle of memories becomes a flood, she has no choice but to confront a past that jeopardises her future.
Currently, it stands at 108k, which seems a little overlong. So one of the things that'd be very useful to know is where it's dragging or where things are entirely unnecessary. However, it'd also be great to get feedback on all other aspects of the book.
Couple of quick warnings: It does contain erotic content, so won't be everybody's cup of tea. And it also contains some violence, which, while not horrifically graphic, might be distressing to some readers.
I'm not on a tight schedule, but if you could read it within a month that would be wonderful. A little longer wouldn't be a problem.
Many thanks for reading this, and I look forward to hearing from you if you think you might enjoy the novel.
