Thought of this because I often see new cozies on the cozy mysteries dot com website.

Which cozy authors / cozy series can be found at your local library?

Agatha Christie and Kerry Greenwood, that's it. Cozy mysteries are not usually available in the libraries, or shops, as far as I can tell in Australia. It's really disappointing. I'd read much more if the series were available at the library or at the shops.

My local library started to have Kerry Greenwood just before the Phyrnne Fisher series premeired in the United States.

Off the top of my head, series by Susan Wittig Albert (cozy?), Donna Andrews, Rhys Bowen, Laura Childs, Blaize / John Clement, Agatha Christie, Cleo Coyle, Ellery Adams, Katherine Hall Page, Charles Todd, Penny Warner, Kate White, Jacqueline Winspear.

There are also books by Diane Mott Davidson, Jill Churchill, and Carolyn Hart.

My library is part of a consortium. I can usually get any book I want. You request it online and if the consortium has it they send it to my library. If the consortium doesn't have it I can then log on to the state system and check to see if any libraries have it. If they do they send it to my library.

Yes, sometimes my library can borrow books from other libraries in the state.

I just visited the library in my town the other day. It was renovated within the past year so they have oodles of shelf space. Browsing through the mystery section, I noticed tons of cozies, more than I thought they carried:

I could go on and on. I didn't have enough time to finish browsing as I stopped by since I was early for an appointment just around the corner. But time quickly swept away and I had to be on my way.

My digital library systems (Overdrive and hoopla) also carry a lot of cozies. I'll never be able to get to all of them!

All of these plus Diane Mott Davidson, Joanne Fluke, Cleo Coyle, Barbara Colley, MC Beaton, Veronica Heley, Ann Purser, Miranda James and quite a few others. I guess I am pretty fortunate. We have a great library

I live in a fairly large city with a great library system and I get just about any author I like. Most are available for digital checkout and they even allow you to hold upcoming releases. Currently, I have holds for upcoming Grace Manor book and the newest Janet Evanovich.

Are books by Marcia Talley available at your library? I was looking for books by this author at my library and it is not on the list.

Are there books by Julie Mulhern or Cindy Brown available at your library?

I asked my library to purchase books by these authors since they were not available.

It looks like one is in process so I look forward to reading the book!

I've never heard of these authors. My library system does not carry their books.

I did forget to include Simon Brett on my list because I just happened to pick up one of his books at the library today to coincide with the audio I got from hoopa.

That's great that Marcia Talley's books are available at your library. I will try again at my library.

My library did not have a certain book by Hank Phillippi Ryan so the library ordered a copy through the interstate library system.

And they also did that for Gigi Pandian's first Jaya Jones mystery novel.

hmmmmm at my hometown library it was usually only Agatha Christie novels. I do see some Tea Shop Mysteries there now though, ever since out town grew into a university town.

I just moved here a couple of months ago and haven't had time to check it out yet except online. It doesn't look too promising. But I've requested they buy a couple that are the latest release in the series and they have and email me when they get it. Like the Diane Kelly Death and Taxes series. I've read them all as soon as they come out as my old library had a much better cozy selection.

I live in Central Florida, and our main library has lots of mysteries, both cozies and other genres.. Lots of female writers especially.. Great library for mystery fans as well as other fiction genres.

I'm in Port Charlotte FL and there are only 5 libraries in the system. Where I was in MA there were about 30 libraries you could request from and if none of them had it you could request from any library in the state.

I am in San Antonio, TX and we also have a great library system. The collection development team responds well to what the citizens want to read, so there are lots of cozy mysteries as well as lots of non-cozies. As with other large library systems, we are part of an interlibrary loan system so can get books from other libraries in the state or even out of state.

I notice many books by Susan Wittig Albert and Donna Andrews in the mystery section at my local library.

I work for a public library. Although we do carry quite a few cozies, the authors whose books I've noticed being checked in and out *a lot* lately are Joanne Fluke and Susan Wittig Albert.

My (very small) library changed the shelving system for adult fiction. In the past, mystery, SV, western and general books were sorted out on separate shelves. Made it easy to browse for just one genre. Now all the adult fiction is jumbled up and sorted strictly by author name. I have to look at each individual book to find the mysteries. The librarians do put genre stickers on the spines but that isn't as convenient as having the mysteries all together. My guess is the books are easier to put back this way, but it's harder for the reader to find something without the author's name.

Fortunately in my library system (San Antonio, TX), the mysteries, science fiction/fantasy, westerns, and adult graphic novels are still shelved separately from the general fiction.

This one came up from cataloging and went on the new book display last night. I was pleased to see them adding a first book by a new author to the collection!
