This story delivered the perfect combination of magic and power-driven madness. It's been a while since I've read a YA book that actually had an enjoyable, unpredictable and yet believable ending.
Celaena was a strong lead in the least typical way. She was flawed rather than saintly and her past as an assassin deeply affected her ideology and decisions to create an admirable character.
The romance between the assassin and the prince was captivating and revealed a lot about Dorian's character. That, combined with the obvious interactions and scheming between the King, Duke and Cain promises a complex and interesting backstory for the royal family that I can't wait to read about in the sequels.

I'm glad you loved it so much! I enjoyed it as well but I feel like I did miss things by not reading the prequel first but I couldn't get all the way through the prequel because I was already so interested in reading ToG so I think I should go back now and read the last two short stories of it!
