I absolutely loved this book. I connected with the fear that she spoke about that stops us from even beginning anything! However, I would have loved it if she had included other careers apart from 'artists' which talking about inspiration, fear, ideas, etc. According to me, all careers need creativity! A doctor needs it while looking at a complicated case; an architect needs it while coming up with a creative building; an engineer needs it to come up with something innovative or repair something with innovation. I thought the book was missing this component because she only looked at ideas, art, inspiration through a filter of what society defines artists to be. To me, all professionals can be creative, artistic, innovative. :)
Big Magic was brilliant. (It read quite funny, too!!) I was able to pull so much valuable, inspiring goodness from this book. So many times, I feel (and I think we all feel) that our ideas aren't good enough or that no one will even care. No longer will I let myself feel this way though!! "Pursue whatever fascinates you and brings you to life." • "What do you love doing so much that the words failure and success essentially become irrelevant?"
I loved the way Liz talked about the creation of art, of ideas. The value of curiosity, versus passion - perfect. The importance of love, relaxation, play, authenticity, and fascination - it all seems so very straightforward now. So, thank you Elizabeth Gilbert!!

Happy reading!
