T. Kozumplik | 22 comments Hello Mad Hatter,
You sent us an email asking how we all were , so I thought I'd share my answer to my friend Yas (she always inspires something lyrical) about summer

'Here the ciccadas have unzipped this summer air and left its heavyweight heat to bear, but the thunderstorms slice and fireflies pinprick the sweltering skin with beauty tasting of honeysuckle.'

Tell me what you think about this short piece of poetry, and please share your summer imagery...

Best to all,

T. Kozumplik

I like the sounds and pinpricks of senses.
The zig-zag of lightening summer days slices through the languid haze and makes the ciccadas sing a song of love and sweet honeysuckle.
I like the contrast of "heavyweight heat to bear" and the sweet honeysuckle.

Thank you for your considered feedback. I like that you riffed off of mine- zig-zag of lightning is better than my lightning slices, I think.

I like that you used mine for a jumping board- 'suckle with an innocent mouth of curiosity and a Summer whim' is playful and effective
