In honor of Veterans Day/Remembrance Day/Armistice Day, read any author who has served in his/her nation's armed forces. All authors for this task must be approved prior to claiming this task for points or combos.
Some ideas, who are pre-approved:

Yep - those already on the list are preapproved, so you can happily just go choose titles without having to post here.

On further investigation, Spark's role was not within the Military, and we are looking at Military Veterans, so she will not qualify for this task.

I will say that anyone who is interested in Spark should check out her obituaries - the stories of her role here were quite funny. Her job was to spread stories to the Germans as misinformation.

I need to check with the other mods on this one, Deedee, but for what it is worth, she will qualify for 20.6 based on the link you provided.

Great list, Rosemary. All of them work, including the nurses. You'll see eventually that Vera Brittain, a VAD nurse, will be honored in my task.

Wonderful! I read Testament of Youth and its sequels years ago, and loved the movie that came out a couple of years ago. Just a pity it's not short enough for 20.2!

I might get England's Hour from the library for this task, although I have a lot of the others on my shelf already...

(Interestingly, he again tried to enlist as a private in WWI but was so old at that point that he was rejected again).

Elizabeth (Alaska) E.L. Doctorow
