I decided it wouldn't be a complete re-read without doing both parts. This part is equally as whimsical, but the ingenuity of the creation of the dream, of the absurdity of the situations, and the matter-of-fact way that Alice ultimately accepts the situation, is almost a maturing of the first story. I've heard others mention that it plays on our English idioms and how children might interpret them in a literal sense, as well as the absurdity of the situations and explanations for things reminiscent of how any young child might feel when given either no explanation or a complicated adult one that they can't understand. If that's the case, it's a brilliant piece of writing.

Either way, it's great fun and reminds me of unlimited possibilities of the dreams of childhood.
