Hey everyone! I was struggling to find names for some characters, and it struck me to ask here, if you guys have any ideas. I'm writing a story that's partially historical fiction, but partially science fiction. There are two sisters living in Philadelphia in 1793. One of them was brought into the future and has no memory of her sister or her time. The other sister back in 1793 has no memory either; both were given a drink that makes them forget. However, they were given names that go together in some way. I need two girl names from the late 1700s that match each other somehow--same first letter, same origin, etc. I also need an exotic-sounding name for a male artist character I have, also from the mid-to late 1700s. Any ideas?
I'm not really sure... I'm sorry. I'm not super familiar with 1700 names lol. You could always go for something kinda classic and traditional like Elizabeth, Mary/Marie/Maria or for boys like William or something, idk. It also depends on the place they're from--like there are some very distinctive Celtic names and stuff that would be really different... I don't know. Lol. I'll try to find something...
Yeah I've been trying to look stuff up but for some reason I'm never finding anything quite right. Especially since I need two names that fit together. But thanks for the website suggestion! And thanks for taking the time to try and help me out; I knew most people wouldn't have any more knowledge of this than me. I was just feeling kinda desperate. :) But thanks again! I'll check out the website.
I just opened the link, and it's definitely quite helpful. Thank you so much for finding it!!!
(Lol, I know that was a lot of thank-yous)
