Maggie is in Pensacola in part because her new boss seems to want the worst for her and sending her towards a hurricane fits the bill. Why do you think the assistant director has it out for her? We're in the second book where this is unexplained. Good decision by the author?

Phrynne | 607 comments Silly decision by the author unless she eventually explains why he has it in for Maggie and the explanation is realistic. In the meantime I just ignore it and accept that Maggie can pop up any time anywhere doing any job. Once I suspend criticism the books become better reads:)

It's an irritating trend by this author to declare something without background and just leave the reading wondering. It's very much unsatisfying.

Robin (robinmy) | 1214 comments As you said, it is very unsatisfying. I agree Phrynne. The author better give us a realistic explanation of why Maggie's boss is doing this to her.

Charlene (charlenethestickler) | 1392 comments Again, I agree with you all. Really strange without explanation. The narrator should know what's going on and why; therefore, the reader should be informed about these background matters.

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 2240 comments Perhaps is it professional jealousy or something more personal. Either way it needs more explanation.
