I'd just like to start by saying that the September Reads episode was fantastic. I did not have time to read the book, but I really enjoyed your discussion. Not since your episode on The Martian have I wanted this much to go and read the book that was discussed. It was clear that the 3 hosts really loved this book. And the idea of a shared world between Gaiman's books is fascinating to me. So I am very happy that you decided to eschew the recommendations and pick another Gaiman book.

One thing that was mentioned was how great it is to be able to go back and forth theorizing about the book, without necessarily coming up with a clear answer. One book that does that really well is The Man Who Was Thursday by G.K. Chesterton. it is a very quick read, and you can get the ebook for 99 cents on Amazon. (In fact, I think you can get the complete works of Chesterton for 99 cents, if you're looking to get the most bang for your buck). Just thought I'd throw that out there so you can add it to the books you are considering.

I don't know if there is a one nomination per person rule. If there is, I don't know how that works since last month's recommendations have carried over to this month. So feel free to toss this one out. Of course, since you can just pick whatever you want, I don't suppose it matters whether this book is officially on the list or not. :-)

I'm nominating "welcome to bordertown" it's a shared world book like Thieves World. It's like the 5th book but you don't have to read the previous though i intend to. Who's in it? I'd like to nominate The Last Kingdom by Bernard Cornwell. It's historical fiction set in a time just after the Vikings show on the History Channel if you a familiar with that. It even shares some characters.

I want to withdraw "Choosing Courage". I just finished it yesterday, and while very interesting, it's just a whole lot of vignettes and I don't think it would prompt much discussion.

On the other hand, I'll go ahead and throw Inkheart by Cornelia Funke out there. I know nothing about it, other than my daughter read the book and my son watched the movie. It may be too YA for this group - I literally know nothing about it.
