Hi! I'm Sophia. I am an avid reader, but my knowledge of the classics has been largely limited to english class. I have tried every summer to read Pride and Prejudice, but have failed miserably from boredom and lack of motivation. I also want to revisit Hamlet, which I read at 13 but never really understood. I need help with these nerdy endeavors! I'm so glad you guys have created this group! :)
Hi Sophia! (awesome name btw) I've devoured Austen's novels a few years ago so if you want to discuss Pride and Prejudice or any other let me know :). Oh and the very same happened to me with Hamlet.
Is this an introduction thread? Anyway,I'm Frankie from Hong Kong. My first book that is more than 100 pages long is Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and I've been reading ever since. I don't think I've ever read more than 4 books by the same author, but my favorite authors are David Baldacci and Stephen King. I haven't read a lot of classics recently, but I can tell you that my favorite classics are A Farewell to Arms and The Phantom of the Opera (<-- is this a classic?). I DID try to read Pride and Prejudice, but I got bored and gave up about 100 pages into it.
Hi peeps! I'm Rosemarie, and a huge Austen fan! After re-reading the His Dark Materials series (great series btw), I've been desperately trying to trudge through Paradise Lost, but I've always lost motivation to actually finish the thing. Same for Garcia Marquez's books! Nice to know you guys, and I look forward to our many interesting conversations soon :)Tempest - Dante *is* a jerk, of the capital J variety. Also creepy.

I am so excited to do this! I can't wait to get dozens of book recommendations and recommend dozens of books to other people. I can't wait to get into philosophical debates about how much of a HUGE JERK Dante Alighieri was (he was, and I will fight you on this). And I can't wait to meet you guys!
My English teacher will be so proud.
