30.5 - Sheila/Kathy G's Task: In Pursuit of a Good Book
Verify this will work for Option 2 - Set in a City with a "G" in location name - Death of a Red Heroine set in SHAN G HAI
Is iWant: My Journey from Addiction and Overconsumption to a Simpler, Honest Life OK for option 4? It does not mention in the description that the author is a TV personality, but this book is her autobiography, and in the author's biography box, it mentions all her TV credits.
Lindsey- that is acceptable. I looked on hersite. Just be sure to show it was approved here
when you post.
:-)
For Option 4: Does the person in showbiz have to be alive or can it be anyone who has ever been in the industry?
Option 5 - at least one tree on cover
The branches are bare, but they surround the banks of the creek/river behind the bridge.
1: Cents And Sensibility by Maggie Alderson (Letters - M, A)2: Wedding Night by Sophie Kinsella - takes place in Greece.

Yes- those are trees to me!
Claire wrote: "1: Cents And Sensibility by Maggie Alderson (Letters - M, A)2: Wedding Night by Sophie Kinsella - takes place in Greece."
Yes to both--- Make sure the mods know
I okayed Wedding Night (since it has two
places it takes place in.)
I love Kinsella. She cracks me up!!!

Yes- that works
Hello! I was wondering if there was enough of a branch for this to pass as a tree on the cover:
Thank you!!!
the description for The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay states one of the main characters smuggled himself out of Nazi-invaded Prague. Is that acceptable for the history option (WWII)?
Option 4 - Still Foolin' 'Em: Where I've Been, Where I'm Going, and Where the Hell Are My Keys - billy crystal - movie industry
Alyssa wrote: "the description for The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay states one of the main characters smuggled himself out of Nazi-invaded Prague. Coralie wrote: "Alyssa wrote: "the description for The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay states one of the main characters smuggled himself out of Nazi-invaded Prague. It's one of my all time favorite books and I'm just chiming in because I love the book!
Does option 4 have to be about a single person or can it be about a band, for example? The one I was thinking of is This Must Be the Place, about the Talking Heads.

Thanks

Coralie is correct. Books with the genre 'sequential art' may only be used for 5-15 point tasks. We know books like Kavalier & Clay get caught in Goodreads' imperfect genre system, but it is the system we are using.
I apologize if I sounded snarky about the genres. I understand how difficult things could get if you started making exceptions. Michael Chabon would fit the initials in ice cream for 10.1 I Scream, You Scream, so you could use it there if you wanted, Alyssa.
Alyssa wrote: "the description for The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay states one of the main characters smuggled himself out of Nazi-invaded Prague. Is that acceptable for the history option (W..."Sorry Alyssa-
Could you move your book to the lower tasks?
Thanks-
Kathy
Gosh, I never knew what sequential art meant. Is it essentially comic book format? You learn something new every day. Thanks dlmrose for weighing in on this question
ughhhhhh that's so frustrating! There are no pictures in this book AND it's over 600 pages. I agree wholeheartedly with Karen- thanks :)
How is this for option 5:
? There is a tree next to the person staring at the river. And just to make sure for option 6: My Iran: Memories, Mysteries and Myths?
Kathy G. wrote: "It took me a minute, but I'll accept thosetrees.
Option 6 is "your choice" so that works."
thanks!!
