When I was in the states, a library was my haven. Here? Not so much. The selection is appalling, one. Two, when you ask for a recc, the techs are clueless. Anyway. I volunteer at the barrigada library, and they really need new books. A lot of home school kids go to the library for lessons; ranging from pre-school to high school. It would be excellent if everyone donated a few books!

It would be great if everyone could donate a few novels to the libraries. I was wondering, Rebecca, what sort of condition does a book need to be in for one to donate it? Also, are all books donated guaranteed to have a place on the shelves of a library? The Barrigada and Agania Libraries seem to be crammed with books. What requirements must a book meet to have a place on the shelves?
Think of when you lend a friend book, that's what kind of condition it should be. There shouldn't be highlighted sections is one thing. Barrigada is actually having a book sale to get rid of old books. I'm not sure when it is, so I'll let you know when I find out.
Hagatna Library had a book sale this past week but it was during school hours and never made it in time after getting my daughter in school. We showed up anyway hoping to get in but a lady there was kind of rude so we didn't go back the next day.
Joe, I didn’t even know there was a sale at the library. I would not have been able to go if it was during the weekdays anyways. Do you often use the library?
Not really, I've only really used it when I was studying for my engineering exams. I did bring my daughter to a couple events there but I don't use it otherwise. I'm also a small time gamer so it's too distracting at home so I go there to study. I'm up for another engineering exam in a few months so I'll be there studying again.
