Order of Windrunners
The first Order of the Knights Radiant with the ability to bind Surges Adhesion and Gravitation. The combination of these two Surges resulted in the powers known as the Three Lashings.
Order of Skybreakers
The second Order of the Knights Radiant with the ability to bind Surges Gravitation and Division.
Order of Dustbringers
The third Order of the Knights Radiant with the ability to bind Surges Division and Abrasion. They could apparently burn things.
Order of Edgedancers
The fourth Order of the Knights Radiant with the ability to bind Surges Abrasion and Progression.
Order of Truthwatchers
The fifth Order of the Knights Radiant with the ability to bind Surges Progression and Illumination.
Order of Lightweavers
The sixth Order of the Knights Radiant with the ability to bind Surges Illumination and Transformation. They could create illusions and had the inherent ability to Soulcast.
Order of Elsecallers
The seventh Order of the Knights Radiant with the ability to bind Surges Transformation and Transportation. They had the inherent ability to Soulcast.
Order of Willshapers
The eighth Order of the Knights Radiant with the ability to bind Surges Transportation and Cohesion.
Order of Stonewards
The ninth Order of the Knights Radiant with the ability to bind Surges Cohesion and Tension.
Order of Bondsmiths
One of the Orders of the Knights Radiant with the ability to bind Surges Tension and Adhesion.
The Knights Radiant also used Shardblades and Shardplates, which were etched with glyphs and glowed a different color according to the Order they were a part of. Although this was not true for every Radiant as not all of them were fighters

Hi all! I recently finished the book, but I would love to go back and re-read certain parts of it and talk about it. Is anyone reading it at the moment?
Hi sorina. Iam about 40% through and iam really loving It. There is one thing though that's got me wondering. When shallan was with the caravan they met a scouting group lead by kaladin. He told them who he is. Why didn't she come out and say the truth if she wanted to get to dalinar asap?....one thing I hate about the series.. I have to wait years between next reads and wait till iam like 40 until it finishes:D
If I remember the details correctly she was put off by his arrogance and didn't quite trust him.
Hopefully Sanderson puts more into this series with some of the others closing but he keeps finding new ones so who knows.

Yeah, it's pretty much like Scott said. She didn't trust him and the other people she was travelling with also had no idea about her true reason for being there (that she was engaged to Adolin). To be perfectly honest Shallan is not my favourite. I guess I warmed up to her a bit more in this book, but she never won me over.
I finished part 3 and iam going through the interludes. Man that last couple of chapters in part 3....holy shit...that fight...AWESOME:D Just when you think it cant get any better and then guess what...it does:D Iam SO hyped with this book. I think the last time i got so engulfed was when I read the Riyria revelations 6 books in just under a months time
It's safe to say that everyone here loves this series. And some of us have characters we like or don't. But how about that Lopen huh? And Wit! You just gotta love em'.
Lopen is awesome. Michael Kramer who's one of the best narrators does an awesome voice for him on the audiobook.
I love Michael Kramer's Rock as well. It was perfect! At first, I was a bit thrown off by Kate Reading's Pattern but after a while, it really grew on me.
Wit is definetly something else. He seems to always be at the right place at the right time. I didnt like Adolin that much in the beginning but iam really starting to like him after the last chapters of part 3. I also really really like Syl especially when shes being a smart ass:)
Wit = greatness (at least for me)And Syl's my favourite character in the whole series. I could read pages upon pages of her interacting with Kaladin!
As I said in the thread of the other book Hoid/Wit spans worlds in the Cosmere. There's lots of theories on him but nobody quite knows except Sanderson himself. By the end of the book you'll learn a bit more.
Too soon for me to do a reread before Oathbringer but I'll stalk this thread. Favourite series ever!
I have not read this one (yet). Is it better than "The Way of Kings"? I am not sure that is possible (I loved the Bridgerunner guy).
John wrote: "I have not read this one (yet). Is it better than "The Way of Kings"? I am not sure that is possible (I loved the Bridgerunner guy)."Maybe it's a tiny bit better. TWoK got the story starting with an amazing bang, but this one delved deeper into the story and the mythology on Roshar (and the Cosmere), which I found so satisfying!

Thanks! GotM had too many characters for me to enjoy and keep straight. The 3 main ones in TWoK were all unique, but interesting. The girl learning the magic is almost as interesting as the "Bridge guy". I rank the prince character number 3 (after the first book). Going back now and reading Elantris. Will re-read TWoK and then Radiance once he publishes number 3. (I hope he keeps his promise of a book every 2 years - I will be 76 when the final one comes).
Hey, we haven't forgotten this buddy read, but we are seeing a slight delay. I actually underestimated how long it would take me to get through the tor.com reread posts, so I'm lagging behind a little. Celeste is patiently waiting for me, and I hope to get through that stuff by the end of the weekend. So we'll be starting soonly. If anyone else is joining us and wants to get started, go for it. There's plenty of book for us to catch up on..
Celeste and I are both starting tonight. In fact, I'm going to update my status and lug the book over to my recliner for some before-bed reading :)
I'm reading the prologue now! I'm reading in bed, though, so I'm using my kindle at the moment instead of my mass market paperbrick. That's not a typo. It's a brick.
Yay ! I won't say anything or spoil however I do wanna lurk ur posts because I wish I could unread this book just to read it for the first time again with you guys !
Celeste wrote: "Prologue: [spoilers removed]"I loved it! (view spoiler)
I wanted to read more, but I need sleep.
I enjoyed that as well. And I'm just going to finish up chapter one and I'll be going to sleep, as well. Already off to a great start, though! Yay!!
Hard to believe that book 2 is even better than the first. i can't wait for book 3. This year hopefully if all goes well!
I loved book one so much, but can already tell that this one is better. Book three is sure to be mind-meltingly awesome!
Can I just say this is by far my favourite unfinished series? Hell I'm more excited for Oathbringer than Winds of Winter.Let's see , who are my favourite characters? I love all of them really , Shallan , Jasnah , kaladin , szeth especially.
And the world building!! Oh my lord , it's so strange and fascinating , I actually feel like I want to visit Roshar as a scholar lol. One of the best fantasy worlds in my opinion.
Brandon Sanderson really outdid himself with this series. I really hope the quality will be consistent throughout because the first 2 books were AMAZING .

And we know there is a good chance that this series will be completed in our lifetime, so that helps.
I'm sorry, Chris! I'm not in school, though, if that makes you feel better. :) I am anxiously awaiting your thoughts! And I completely agree, Salman. Sanderson is an amazing writer, and this series is his magnum opus. I've enjoyed everything I've read from him, but Stormlight is special. Kaladin is my favorite character, along with Bridge Four as a whole. But Shallan and Jasnah are right behind him!
No problem, Celeste. My pace will fluctuate probably. Like today, I'm a passenger in a car going to Atlanta for a conference. I've read up through chapter 9 so far.
Loving this :)
