Helga Can anyone recommend me books about the 20th century's conflicts, such as Rwandan Genocide and Korean War?

It would be better if it were not too specific, since I need a perspective on every conflict, so I'm thinking about something like Guns, Germs, and Steel: The Fates of Human Societies , but specific books are also welcome.

Thank you.

Karl Øen You could try Niall Ferguson's The War of The World.

Adam Meek Collapse: How Societies Choose to Fail or Succeed has material on the Rwandan genocide.

Dude, this is not a forum to be peddling your services. Please take your self-promotional garbage somewhere else. And please, please feel ashamed of yourself for doing some so unbelievable shameless and crass, okay?

I would agree.. Another good read would be The Next 100 Years: A Forecast for the 21st Century by George Friedman.. While it isn't history (quite the opposite), he uses recent historical evidence of the 20th century to predict the 21st. You will lightly learn about the 1900's in the first few chapters that lead into 2000-2100.

James A Problem From Hell by Samantha Power has a lot of information on the Rwandan Genocide, especially from a foreign perspective.

JV Try The Better Angels of Our Nature: Why Violence Has Declined by Steven Pinker. Goes way beyond the conflicts you mention but will put them in a pretty fascinating context.

Colin Guns, Germs & Steel is a great read. I was a history major and had to read this book for one of my classes. It is VERY interesting. You should read the summary and let me know what you think.
