Nik Krasno | 19888 comments Don't know whether this new social network is bound to become viral, but sipping on Glenfiddich, I thought maybe more members would join as soon as Friday evening unfolded -:)

message 2: by Jen Pattison (new)

Jen Pattison | 409 comments Let's hope so, I'm not much of a drinker but I'll raise my mug of tea to that Nik. :)

message 3: by Nik (new)

Nik Krasno | 19888 comments Thanks, Jen, cheers, na zdorovie -:)

Mike Robbins (mikerobbins) | 291 comments Friday evening is just about to unfold here in New York and I will be lifting a beer to my lips in due course.

message 5: by Jorge (new)

Jorge Lopez I will join you too. It's been a hell of a week and I will celebrate the weekend with a nice Macallan Amber and ice.
Cheers!

message 6: by Nik (new)

Nik Krasno | 19888 comments That's quite a company already!

Now that's something worth sipping on. You a Scotch drinker?

message 8: by Ian (new)

Ian Bott (iansbott) | 216 comments I think a small glass of wine is in order to celebrate Friday :)

message 9: by Matthew (new)

Matthew Williams (houseofwilliams) Wine is good. Whiskey is good. Beer is good. It's all nectar of some gods, right?

I'm all drinker -:)
Unfortunately, at some stage I needed to choose the booze basing on least -felt -next- morning- after-effects, and I found that single-malts caused little to no hangover!
Another one of week's evenings goes with red wine...
And beers are surely welcome too on appropriate occasions - like sports, BBQ and stuff.
Viva Bacchus/Dionysus!

And don't forget Ninkasi, Marduk, Macuiltochtli, Hephaestus, Gambrinus, Cerridwen, Crom Dubh, and Dagon. So many beer gods. And I do believe they are related to the whiskey gods, right? :)

Nik Krasno | 19888 comments Didn't realize there were that many divine drunkards -:)

Mehreen Ahmed (mehreen2) | 1906 comments Nik wrote: "Didn't realize there were that many divine drunkards -:)"

O Nik. There are. People can get drunk over love and war too. Not just Whisky and Vodka.

message 15: by Nik (new)

Nik Krasno | 19888 comments Yep, probably not just booze, but anything triggering an ego trip

message 16: by Mehreen (new)

Mehreen Ahmed (mehreen2) | 1906 comments Nik wrote: "Yep, probably not just booze, but anything triggering an ego trip"

Yeah. Hitler was drunk! With power and irrational rage! Wouldn't you agree?

message 17: by Nik (new)

Nik Krasno | 19888 comments Heinous psychopath.

Mehreen Ahmed (mehreen2) | 1906 comments Nik wrote: "Heinous psychopath."

message 21: by Kat (new)

Kat It's saturday already, but I got two beers that need drinking.

So cheers :)

message 22: by Ian (new)

Ian Miller | 1857 comments Me, I prefer single malts from Islay. Medical benefits :-) (They contain a little iodine from the seaweed through which their water percolates, and NZ soil is actually a little deficient in iodine.) That's my excuse anyway, not that I need an excuse.

message 24: by Nik (new)

Nik Krasno | 19888 comments Ok, red wine for me tonight. Anyone's joining?
Cheers, na zdarovye, lehaim!

message 25: by Bernard (new)

Bernard Boley (bernard_boley) | 126 comments In Canada, we have this 'designated driver' thing going on where one of the guys stays sober allowing for a safe return of the others together,

I look at it from a different perspective and usually offer them to be the 'designated drinker'. LOL

message 26: by Nik (new)

Nik Krasno | 19888 comments Now we are talking. Sounds good! More drinkers?

Drivers and drone operators are welcome to join too -:)

message 27: by Nik (new)

Nik Krasno | 19888 comments It's gonna be whisky tonight. Too bad can't organize a giveaway through goodreads -:) Those cutting edge techs still have their limits...
Anyone's up to clink a glass through computer screen? -:)

message 28: by Leer (new)

Leer Es | 24 comments Salud to all of you! I'll toast with you while drinking a bottle of Bold Rock Honeydew Cider.

message 29: by Nik (new)

Nik Krasno | 19888 comments Sounds good, cheers!

message 30: by Mike (new)

Mike Robbins (mikerobbins) | 291 comments Ran out of cider last night but there's a few bottles of porter in the fridge for when I get home, assuming I do (NY traffic a bit unsettled by all the barriers etc. around Trump Tower. Will have to steer my bike onto some other route).

message 31: by Matthew (new)

Matthew Williams (houseofwilliams) Tossing back some good ol' fashioned West Coast style beers!

message 32: by Ian (new)

Ian Bott (iansbott) | 216 comments Supped a Kokanee, now working on a glass of white wine. Cheers!

Matthew Williams (houseofwilliams) Ian wrote: "Supped a Kokanee, now working on a glass of white wine. Cheers!"

You can't mix. Or maybe you can, I don't care! :)

Sam (Rescue Dog Mom, Writer, Hugger) (sammydogs) I raise my scotch and ginger ale to everyone.
No, it's not expensive scotch, but I do have a bottle of Macallan 18 waiting for me to publish my book... which I hope to be early next year... had a setback.

message 35: by Nik (new)

Nik Krasno | 19888 comments Just to remind that our drinking social network is open for adult audience and kicking especially towards the weekend. As I see darkness behind the window the first round won't be long -:)

message 36: by P.J. (new)

P.J. Paulson | 94 comments G'morning, or good evening, Nik, as the case may be. I just began my day with a homemade "frappuccino". Hope that counts, if I clink my glass gently on the screen.

message 37: by Nik (new)

Nik Krasno | 19888 comments Sure, counts, although a droplet of some compatible liquor may improve it, but that's probably for a later hour -:)

message 38: by Joanne (new)

Joanne I go for no less than the finest champagne. Brought a magnum to share. Any takers? I can't drink this alone.

message 39: by Nik (new)

Nik Krasno | 19888 comments I'm in. Cheers!

Sam (Rescue Dog Mom, Writer, Hugger) (sammydogs) P.J. Sounds delicious! I'm actually having a satisfying cup of hot coffee right now. Cheers.

Joanne, Hmm... maybe after my coffee. ; )

message 41: by Rita (new)

Rita Chapman | 156 comments Joanne, I LOVE champagne! I'll help you drink it. (I'm also partial to a Martini).

message 42: by Nik (new)

Nik Krasno | 19888 comments Isn't tonight perfect to unscrew or uncork something?-:)

message 43: by Nik (new)

Nik Krasno | 19888 comments Jameson anyone?

message 44: by Matthew (new)

Matthew Williams (houseofwilliams) Nik wrote: "Jameson anyone?"

Whiskey? I have been known to enjoy that. Or is that something else where you live?

message 45: by Nik (new)

Nik Krasno | 19888 comments It's the same stuff here too, unless, of course, it's a counterfeit (happens also) -:) Cheers!

message 46: by Matthew (new)

Matthew Williams (houseofwilliams) Of the whiskeys that I've tried, that was definitely one of the smoothest and easy-drinking ones. I would also recommend Balllantines. I was surprised, since its dirt cheap around here, but its a very versatile scotch!

message 47: by Kat (new)

Kat Just got home from evening school.

Had a few slices of pizza on the way home so I wouldn't have to cook so late. Having my last beer now before bed.

I wish I didn't have to get up at stupid o'clock in the morning...

message 48: by Nik (new)

Nik Krasno | 19888 comments Cheers, Kat! Indeed, early mornings usually aren't the best part of the day

message 49: by Scout (new)

Scout (goodreadscomscout) | 8089 comments Raising a glass of Pinot Grigio to you at the end of a long day here in the US.

Roughseasinthemed | 129 comments Whisky (scottish), whiskey (irish) whiskey (all, American)

I drunk my way around the Hebrides and single malts

These days I stick to cider and Larios (Spanish gin – good for kidney stones … prevention/cure that is).
